Distance calculates EDR just fine, but does not produce correct densities (and therefore population estimate). It seems the problem is in the measures of distance and area entered.
When I enter distance as m and area as hectares, the answer is 1/10 of what it should be (because I have actual densities) (e.g. population estimate of 9 when the answer is really about 90). When I re-enter the exact same data in km (distance in km, and area in km^2), the population estimate is now 10 times the actual answer (900 instead of 90). Somehow, Distance is not interpreting the area and/or distances and relating them correctly. When I enter the same data in different units in a new project, it should provide the same answer, not a whole different answer.
My own workaround is to enter hectares as 10x the actual amount and distance in actual m, and that works.
I somehow can't think I'm the only person that has encountered this.
