Native DirectX 12 on Linux — First NVIDIA GPU Compute Milestone
I'm developing an experimental native Direct3D 12 implementation for Linux, with the long-term goal of supporting NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel through a common GPU adaptation layer — without Vulkan.
Today, I've reached an important milestone:
A NAK-compiled compute shader successfully executed on an RTX 4090 using NVIDIA's official 615.78.08 driver — without Nouveau or Vulkan.
Verified results:
This is an early compute milestone, not a complete Direct3D 12 implementation. Frontend integration and independent review are still ahead.
The project is intended to be open source, with a vendor-independent architecture.
One step closer to native DirectX 12 on Linux. 🦾
