No need to verify the connection before attempting to connect

I'm genuinely disappointed that you added this ridiculous feature in one of the recent Windscribe updates.

Why should attempting to connect to the VPN depend on whether the app thinks the internet is connected? What exactly is your criterion for determining that the internet is "connected"? Is it simply checking connectivity by pinging a few specific DNS servers?

Last night, my internet connection in Iran was working. Many international websites were accessible, but due to a bug with my modem, An exclamation mark was displayed next to the Wi-Fi icon, even though the connection was established. As a result, Windscribe refused to connect.

Please remove this absurd behavior as soon as possible. fix it immediately there as well.

These options don’t work. I’ll emphasize again: whether on a device I’ve logged into before or on a device I’m logging into for the first time, if DNS hijacking is happening by the ISP and the connection appears to be down, it won’t be possible to connect. From a software-design standpoint, there is no logical reason for a VPN to prevent a connection just because it checks internet status. Its method of checking connectivity can be wrong in certain situations.

My internet is not actually down, and I can access most international websites. Because of a specific issue with my ISP, the operating system reports that there is no connection, and based on this false report, Windscribe can’t connect. This problem does not happen on my desktop with the same ISP and the same modem.

AFAIK, connectivity checks are done by a request to connectivitycheck.gstatic.com. Some Android OS's (by some still called "custom ROMs") have a specific option for Internet connectivity checks under Network & internet that allow you to change which server is used for this.

So for now, on your side, there's the option to check if your OS has this option, or whether you can do something to unblock the address.
