Summary

Prepares the README and accumulated changelog for 2.0.0. Requirements, installation and migration guidance are clearer, and release notes group the breaking rewrite, supported workflows, security behavior and verification limits. All prior issue references and published 1.x history are retained.

Corrects Composer’s invalid GPLv2 metadata to GPL-2.0-or-later, matching the existing project-specific license grant and README. LICENSE, package identity and dependency requirements are unchanged. The acceptance record no longer reports the resolved warning and keeps historical installation evidence distinct from this metadata-only validation.

Verification

Strict Composer validation passed without warnings on PHP 8.4 and 8.5 with networking denied. Documentation links and preservation checks passed. Independent Standards and Spec reviews found no issues, including focused reviews of the license correction.

2.0.0 remains explicitly Unreleased. This PR creates no tag or package release and invents no publication date.

Validation details
  • Base: b32f057b7101bae394fae27d071c46472c9363c6; commit: 5d8765efe1fdf59a380c82b43775276d44eaee84. All 15 reviewed source/support content, mode and absence fingerprints were preserved after committing; working tree clean.
  • PHP 8.4.26 and 8.5.10 each passed composer validate --strict --no-check-publish --no-interaction under sandbox-exec -p '(version 1)(allow default)(deny network*)', without warnings. Checks were renewed after commit.
  • php tools/docs/check-repository-links.php: 496 local links passed. git diff --check passed.
  • Structural checks confirmed Composer differs only in the license value, LICENSE is byte-identical, all 23 prior changelog issue URLs remain, and the Published history section is byte-identical. README installation matches the public tutorial’s ^2.0 constraint.
  • Historical project-specific license evidence: README at commit b2a1b99b8f151198ebe26c76e0a724881fb7aad3 explicitly permits GPL version 2 or any later version. This is metadata normalization, not relicensing or inference from generic license boilerplate.
  • Independent read-only Standards and Spec reviews inspected both release-document preparation and the focused license/evidence delta; no issues remained. Build, acceptance and reporting gates pass for this bounded change.
  • Zero test files/methods added, removed or changed. No runtime library code, dependency constraints, CI jobs or deployment hooks changed. No fresh installation, full runtime suite or site build is claimed for these prose/metadata changes; prior historical consumer evidence is bounded accordingly.
  • Existing documentation CI runs on PRs; successful current-main builds trigger existing Spacefast publishing. No library-release automation is introduced. Hosted compute impact is unmeasured; no performance claim.
  • Impact label: patch for the backward-compatible Composer metadata fix; the aggregate 2.0.0 rewrite remains a major release. No version field, date, tag, publication, live Wistia call or issue closure is introduced.
  • No data migrations or external Wistia state changes; rollback is a source revert and was not exercised.
