Ready to be public and open to contributors; CI on Linux and macOS with manifest validation - #3
Conversation
The file format the plugin shares with Animus is written out in docs/agent-mailbox.md, and the README, the skill and the script point there. The README opens as add-ons for people who already run Animus (Claude Code for now) and says what the plugin writes and reads, how to check, use and uninstall it, and how to try a change. LICENSE is MIT. SECURITY.md says how to report and what the plugin touches, including that a message in the inbox reaches the agent. CONTRIBUTING, a code of conduct, CODEOWNERS and issue and pull request templates open it to contributors. The name is written Animus in all prose. The plugin runs on the Mac, and it walks the process tree with ps, so the tests run on macOS as well as Linux. A validate job runs claude plugin validate --strict on the marketplace, the plugin and the skill; the marketplace gains the description that check asks for. Reviewed at 8da182ce. I read the full files: all 18 changed files (both old and new versions for modified files), plus hooks/hooks.json.
I traced the code paths in scripts/mailbox.py — all changes are capitalization of "animus" → "Animus" in string constants and user-facing strings, with identifiers kept lowercase per the stated convention. I verified the naming consistency repo-wide via grep. I confirmed the marketplace.json description field has no code consumers beyond the validation tool. I checked that the test string changes in test_mailbox.py align with the startswith("<task-notification" guard in mailbox.py (it doesn't inspect tag content).
Confidence: 90/100 because every change is documentation, community files, CI configuration, or branding capitalization with no behavioral or correctness impact.
