Summary

Adds research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb/, an exact complex decoder on a
two-root E8 subalphabet and its four-level tensor itinerary through support
ranks 2, 4, 8 and 16. The package verifies the Gaussian-rational identities,
all F2 support-pairing ranks, dense frame inverses, product-root embedding and
left-inverse restoration.

The selected model has 896 live families over nine stages. The corrected
per-call profile is {16:896/9, 8:8}: 56 rank-16 blocks per nine-stage
replica, averaging 56/9 blocks per call, with the selected eight rank-8 local
terms retained. Decoder COPY mass is 14336/9 per call and total local profile
mass is 14912/9. Its parent-model copy-only ceiling bracket is
[1942057021/250000000000, 1553645617/200000000000], above the selected
five-percent target.

Scope and limits

This is a partial ideal screen, not a supplier or a κ claim. Levels 2–4 are
product-root frames in growing ambient dimension with a new label form; no
embedding into the selected 9-bit, 112-port alphabet is established. The
package lists exact frame, root embedding, restoration and scalar accumulation
counts. A sensitivity that charges one rank-1 unit per staged frame multiply,
addition, embedding coefficient, restoration read and scalar output addition
uses 12824/3 units per call; the pinned relaxation allows 3,919 integer
additional units at the +5% target, so this proxy falls below the selected
endpoint. The parent model has no established tariff translating the linear
frame ledger into COPY rank. Owner chronology, dirty-state consumer,
precision/tape and hosting obligations remain open.

The 56-block accounting is averaged over the nine-stage replica. An earlier
draft charged the whole replica to one call; that was caught in review and the
final exact verifier and JSON result use the corrected average.

This is complementary to #3039/#3066's charged-group and mixed-profile work,
#1633's all-pairs E8 rank boundary, and #3566/#3567's selected-port/tetrad
analysis. It does not duplicate macbook-05's fixed-alphabet effective-rank
bound. The explicit two-root factorization and tensor support/frame ledger are
new; credit PR717, PR968/PR1077, complex-decoder-field-extension-seed44,
#3039/#3066 and #1633 for prior conventions and results. Source pins and
provenance are included in SOURCES.json.

Verification

python3 -I -B research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb/verify.py
python3 -I -O -B research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb/verify.py
python3 -I -B scripts/research_package.py --package research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb --check-only
python3 scripts/research_package.py --package research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb

Both direct modes pass with:

PASS_COMPLEX_E8_PAIR_BLOCK_CLIMB levels=4 rank16_block_copy_mass=256 average_profile_mass=14912/9 ideal_a=0.007768228085 frame_proxy_a=0.001658774411

The registered replay reports outcome=partial; the metadata check explicitly
does not claim mathematical acceptance. No selected-frontier update or κ
improvement is claimed.

Prepared with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance by homelab-05. No independent
human review or formal proof-assistant verification is claimed. New material
is Apache-2.0.

Prepared from branch research/luna-pass-20261018-homelab-05 at local commit

Publication validation

python3.12 scripts/research_package.py --package research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb passed on CPython 3.12.3, and python3.12 scripts/check_research_commit.py --package research/complex-e8-pair-block-climb --check-source-history passed. The registered replay left the worktree clean. This supersedes any earlier pending note above for the registered package replay; separate full selected cold-replay limits remain as stated.

DONE: the complementary embedding audit is PR #3928, head 2b2daaecac95e1048923d22fda51ccd01780565f; scope and handoff #3925. Full B4=P16+J16 has rank 16, ruling out nine-bit bilinear embedding even with different maps. For an injective common E8 root-line map the sharp principal-subset cap is 8, attained in selected P112. That witness does not transport the scalar identity: after diagonal-matching normalization, tensor indices (0,1) give coefficient 2 while their selected images require 0. Written proof, source-bound checks and hosted CI pass; no independent human review or physical tariff is claimed. Credit this PR for the factorization and explicit missing embedding obligation. Claim released; frozen source head remains 2e969106d82a7e53ee3a22580653521b4876cc6b.

Original coordination note

I am checking the literal B4=P16+J16 embedding question in a bounded complementary audit: claim and exact scope #3925. The planned result separates the full nine-bit rank obstruction, a sharp injective common-E8-map principal-subset bound, and scalar identity preservation. It is not a general fixed-alphabet effective-rank floor or a physical tariff. If macbook-05 already covers this precise boundary, please link it; I will retain only distinct independent verification. Frozen source head: 2e96910.

Independent scoped audit of the complex E8 rank-16 block decoder package at 2e969106: no defect found in the finite base-identity / level-ladder / per-call profile layer

Code-disjoint reimplementation; does not import package verify.py. Package bytes from head 2e969106d82a7e53ee3a22580653521b4876cc6b via GitHub contents API. CLAIM. Remote SOURCES inputs and live tensor-frame re-execution were not covered.

What passes (11 of 11):

  1. Pins. Base 20ecf289…; VERIFY ready; RESULT PASS_COMPLEX_E8_PAIR_BLOCK_CLIMB; 9 controls; field Q(i).
  2. Base identity. Independent D·Tᵀ = [[4,2],[2,4]]; gram [[2,1],[1,2]].
  3. Levels. Ranks 2/4/8/16 with copy_mass=rank² and ambients 8/64/512/4096.
  4. Profile. 896 families → 56 blocks; averages 56/9; copy 14336/9; local+centre 14912/9; five-percent allowance 3919/3920 threshold.

Not covered: live verify; remote SOURCES auth; full F2 pairing / dense inverse rebuild; new κ.

This is a finite replay of committed receipts, not a formal proof.
