Closes #3664

Summary

Implemented issue #3664 and committed as c868e450. PHPUnit, requested smokes, and changed-file lint passed.

What changed

• Added per-item color, font, and marker_color overrides with font-aware measurement and a shared gutter.
• Added path-specific warnings and dropped-field reporting for invalid items.
• Updated schema documentation and added measurement and pixel-render regression tests.

Compatibility

Existing scalar items retain block-level styling. No version or changelog changes.
