Seed skill-exchange: reuse shared skills across repos - #126
Merged
Merged
Conversation
Adds the skill-exchange skill so this repository can pull from the shared catalogue at MaximumTrainer/agent-skills and contribute general improvements back, instead of reinventing the same practices locally. Adds the mechanism only; no skills are vendored. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Seeds the
skill-exchangeskill so this repository can reuse the shared skillscatalogue at MaximumTrainer/agent-skills instead of reinventing the
same practices locally.
Why
Reviewing every repository in this space turned up the same practices written
independently in each one - outside-in TDD in nine of them, ports-and-adapters in
eight, the same third-party API quirks handled in six. Each copy learned the same
lessons separately and none shared what it learned.
What this adds
.claude/skills/skill-exchange/SKILL.md- when to pull from the catalogue, when to writesomething local instead, and how to decide whether a local improvement is
general enough to send back.
.claude/skills/skill-exchange/scripts/skills.py- self-contained, stdlib only:list [--search TERM]pull NAMEstatusdiff NAMEcontribute NAMENothing is vendored by this PR - it only adds the mechanism. Pull whatever this
repo actually needs; pulling everything makes skill selection worse, not better.
Try it
Vendored skills are recorded in
.claude/skills/.skills-manifest.jsonwith aper-file content hash, which is what lets
statustell "someone improved thishere" apart from "upstream moved on". Commit that manifest.
