Two changes are bundled here and only one is opt-in. The nvMMH pruning is gated on autotuner_nvmmh_config and fails open to the full sweep, which is the right contract. The CuteDSLTunableRunner marker, however, switches roughly twenty runners (all CuTe DSL MoE grouped GEMMs, SwiGLU/FC2 fusions, indexer-Q, BMMs, and NVFP4GemmUnifiedRunner whenever cutedsl is an allowed backend) from the existing globaltimer/CUDA-event timing to torch.profiler/CUPTI for every Blackwell/Rubin user, with nvMMH disabled. That is a separate concern (AGENTS.md: one concern per PR) with its own risk profile. Please either split it out or gate it (e.g. honor an explicit TLLM_PROFILING_TIMER value and default the CuTe DSL path to the legacy timer until measured). Either way, the PR needs autotune wall-time numbers for the timing change alone on a MoE-heavy model with nvMMH off: each candidate now pays a CUPTI start/stop per pure_profile call, and that overhead can erase the savings the pruning buys.
Description vs. diff:
- The description's table lists SM100/SM103 BF16 as "all five" fields, but
_rank_prune_tacticsdiscardssplit_kfor non-Rubin targets and the docs table agrees with the code. Fix the description. - Cache keys for every CuTe DSL runner now carry a timer discriminator (and a search-policy tuple when nvMMH is on), so existing
TLLM_AUTOTUNER_CACHE_PATHfiles miss for all CuTe DSL ops and silently re-tune. Worth a line in the description and release notes. - The shipped
examples/layer_wise_benchmarks/config_{ctx,gen}.yamlnow turn on a prototype feature (scheduler-only nvMMH) by default, changing the benchmark baseline for everyone who uses them. If that is intentional, say so explicitly; otherwise leave the examples at the library default and document how to enable.
Two behaviors to double-check in the timing path (details inline): a profiler error that is not a CUPTI/Kineto message is treated as a tactic failure rather than a timer failure, and the fallback-key lookup builds both cache keys on every inference-time choose_one even on a hit.
On the pruning side, the CTA-order mapping is inverted relative to the code this replaces; please record the evidence for the new sign in the adapter, since a wrong sign silently degrades every cta_order-selected tactic without failing any test.

Configure optional nvMMH tactic pruning and scheduler guidance for CuTe DSL BF16, FP8, NVFP4 and MXFP8 runners. Separate search policies and profiling timers in cache identity, prefer CUPTI timing and fall back to CUDA events. Expose the policy through LLM args and layerwise YAML configuration. Use main's separate Rubin BF16 runners, direct split-K and public DSL gates. Preserve current dispatch, telemetry policies and validated baseline tactic families. Use in-process profiling. Validation after decoupling: 61 checks passed on Hecate SM107 (39 autotuner, 12 focused NVMMH, 10 Rubin kernel tests). Golden manifest regenerated and touched-file pre-commit passed. CUPTI is unavailable in this setup; CUDA-event fallback is verified. Reused recent native binaries, not an exact-tip rebuild. Signed-off-by: peaceh <103117813+peaceh-nv@users.noreply.github.com>
Keep split-K admission filtering when restoring unmatched swap orientations. Pin the process-wide NVMMH configuration while engines remain active, reject conflicting updates atomically, and release ownership during cleanup or GC. Equivalent policies reuse the installed snapshot. Cover engine configuration wiring and lifecycle, unmatched-swap admission, and deterministic complete swizzle annotations with regression tests. Add docstrings for changed helpers and correct the documented Blackwell BF16 field support. Validation: 43 autotuner tests and 2 Rubin MXFP8 scheduler tests passed on Hecate SM107. The four policy/admission cases passed again after the final identity-preservation adjustment. The LLM args golden manifest is unchanged. Regenerate the LLM args manifest for main's existing uses_spcompress field and apply the formatter's required spacing at the nvMMH integration boundary. Validation on Hecate SM107: 47 autotuner regressions, 12 focused nvMMH checks, and 10 Rubin kernel tests passed. Golden manifest and all applicable pre-commit checks passed. Mock autotuner policy configuration alongside the other unrelated engine initializers in the PCG routing test. Its partial SimpleNamespace args omit autotuner_nvmmh_config, so the new constructor hook fails before the routing assertions and unnecessarily touches the process-wide autotuner. Validation: reproduced all 15 parameterized failures on Hecate ARM before the fix; all 47 CPU warmup tests and two subtests pass afterward. The LLM args golden manifest check also passes after rebasing onto latest main. Signed-off-by: peaceh <103117813+peaceh-nv@users.noreply.github.com>

- BF16: keep each model split-K, drop the split cap of 8. - Block-scaled: materialize model clusters outside the default sweep. - Rank only runner-implementable CTA tiles via the NVMMH validity callback. - BF16: keep model tiles whose recommended cluster is illegal. - Sweep clusters locally around model tiles (MXFP8 rank-1 cluster-M; BF16 and FP8 BMM rank-1 plus <=2-CTA clusters). - Key the tactic-search cache on the NVMMH wheel version and a tactic schema number instead of a hand-bumped version string. - Support the nvMatmulHeuristics 0.2.0 Python API (getWithMNK, and the 0.1.0.27 callback setter) so plain BF16 queries still prune. Rubin, 29 document GEMM/BMM cases, same-GPU CUPTI vs the full sweep: none >5% slower (was +24.6% on UKV), every case prunes (31382 -> 5240 tactics), geomean vs the previous wheel 1.0005x -> 1.0204x. Same on the 0.2.0 wheel (max +2.28%). Signed-off-by: peaceh <103117813+peaceh-nv@users.noreply.github.com>
