📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Improvements
    • Benchmark predictions now use the configured precision for model computations on CUDA, while retaining full precision when configured. The TimesFM 3 benchmark uses half precision for these computations.
    • Benchmark model inputs and prediction outputs remain unchanged.

The timeseries model configuration now specifies an autocast dtype. The FEV and GIFT predictors use that dtype for model calls when inputs are on CUDA and the dtype is not torch.float32.

Changes: Timeseries autocast inference

Layer / File(s) Summary
Configure inference dtype
benchmark/timeseries/model.py
ModelConfig now requires an autocast_dtype. The timesfm3 configuration sets it to torch.float16.
Apply autocast in predictors
benchmark/timeseries/fev_bench/predictor.py, benchmark/timeseries/gift_eval/predictor.py
Both predictors wrap model calls in autocast when inputs are on CUDA and the configured dtype is not torch.float32. The FEV predictor imports TableTensor directly from sdm.

Pass device_type by keyword.

This multiline torch.amp.autocast call passes self.device.type positionally. Change it to device_type=self.device.type. PyTorch 2.7 supports that parameter name. (docs.pytorch.org) As per coding guidelines: “Use keyword arguments in multi-line calls.”
