Description

Follow-up to #199: audit the references on /research, correct citation metadata, and add one missing PrairieLearn paper without changing the page layout or search behavior. Only src/pages/research/index.tsx is changed.

This adds the previously omitted Strategies for Deploying Unreliable AI Graders in High-Transparency High-Stakes Exams (Azad, Chen, Fowler, West, and Zilles; AIED 2020). The resulting page has 113 papers. In addition, 26 existing entries receive corrections or small citation cleanups:

  • Correct author order in A’s for All and Measuring the score advantage on asynchronous exams.
  • Correct Investigating the effects of testing frequency… from ASEE to SIGCSE 2023 and identify the Integrating diverse learning tools… paper as a SPLICE workshop paper at SIGCSE.
  • Correct the year of Student behavior in selecting an exam time… to 2016 and On students’ ability to resolve their own tracing errors… to 2022.
  • Correct the Frequent mastery testing… title to end in “undergraduate engineering”; show the 2020 journal issue year and retain its 2019 online-publication date.
  • Correct Yael Gertner’s surname in two Proof Blocks citations.
  • Correct title wording/punctuation, including “learning” rather than “learnings,” the published peer-grading title, the Board 254 prefix, and the quotation in the OER paper.
  • Link Benchmarking partial credit grading algorithms… directly to its chapter rather than the whole proceedings volume; link Analyzing the decline of student scores… to its DOI.
  • Label the forthcoming SIGCSE Virtual 2026 machine-learning paper as accepted, based on the official accepted-papers list.
  • Clean up a few author initials, extra spaces, commas, and missing periods.

Audit and source discrepancies

Checked titles, ordered author lists, venues, years, and linked publication identities against publisher-supplied Crossref records. Used original PDFs, arXiv records, and the official conference program for records that were missing, malformed, or contradictory. Also checked all 24 ASEE entries against their original PDFs.

The Chen/Azad order differs between two 2020 papers that otherwise share the same final four authors. Learning to Cheat correctly lists Binglin Chen, Sushmita Azad, Max Fowler, Matthew West, Craig Zilles. The newly added Strategies for Deploying Unreliable AI Graders correctly lists Sushmita Azad, Binglin Chen, Maxwell Fowler, Matthew West, Craig Zilles.

Two ASEE landing pages/Crossref records reorder authors differently from the PDFs. Retained the existing, PDF-supported author orders for:

Sources for the principal corrections

AI assistance: Codex performed the bibliography audit and implementation at Mariana’s request; human review is requested.

Testing

  • ESLint across the repository.
  • Prettier check across src/.
  • Next.js route type generation and TypeScript --noEmit.
  • git diff --check.
  • Parsed the page’s JSX to confirm all 113 entries are present, all required citation fields are populated, and titles/links are unique.
  • Manually reviewed the citation-only diff and primary-source discrepancies described above. No layout or behavior changes; no production build run.
