fix: keep Settings controls clickable above the bar preview - #427
In Settings → Bar, the preview wallpaper intercepts clicks on the Settings tabs, display selectors, and Edit Bar in Place, while widget rows below still respond.
Exclude the decorative wallpaper from hit testing. Its scaled-to-fill image has a hit area that extends beyond the clipped preview.
Allow a supplied wallpaper image so regression tests exercise the image path without app-bundle resources.
Cover clicks on a header button, the real display selector, and Edit Bar in Place at 900- and 2000-point window widths.
Wait for window readiness and click outcomes by polling with a finite attempt count, yielding the main actor between attempts.
The rendered appearance and configuration format are unchanged; the existing settings-bar scene covers this view.
Testing
swift test --filter 'WidgetDragSessionTests|previewWallpaperLeavesTheSettingsHeaderClickable': both click regression cases and all 8 existing widget drag/selection tests pass.
Before the fix, all three controls failed at both widths.
git diff --check passes. The click tests use invisible windows; no live bar was launched.
CI passes the full test suite, release build, docs images, and screen rendering. CodeRabbit's follow-up review has no actionable comments; its original thread is resolved.
