Note MCP scope, reload, and how to see it in Claude Code

Follow-up from real usage: after claude mcp add, the server was "invisible" in the Claude Code UI. Two reasons, now documented in the Use with Claude Code section:

  • Scope — claude mcp add defaults to local scope (bound to the directory you ran it in), so it won't appear in a session for a different project. Added a note to use --scope user for it to be available everywhere.
  • Reload + where to look — MCP servers connect at session start (restart / new chat after adding), and there's no MCP menu: the /mcp slash command is how you list servers, their connection status, and their tools.

Docs-only.
