Most of what is here started from one scan of 43,000 small-business websites and 19,113 mail domains, and from the problems that kept showing up in it.
Free tools
- Free website check - type a business website address and see, in plain English, what a customer or Google runs into on its home page (not secure, broken on phones, missing Google title, old year and more), each with a free step-by-step fix. No sign-up.
- Email forgery check - type a domain, see whether anyone can send mail in its name (DMARC, SPF). Runs in your browser. Source: email-forgery-check
- Mailwick Site Audit - a WordPress plugin with seven plain-English checks (email forgery, SSL and mixed content, updates, phone view, tap-to-call, form mail, search snippet) in Tools > Site Health.
- Local Site Audit + Pitch - a browser extension for web designers: one click on a business's site gives a client report of real defects with evidence, plus a pitch email written from them. Get it on Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons.
- Keystone Lite - a free one-page website template for local service businesses, one per trade: plumber, dentist, cleaning, law firm, roofing, electrician, landscaping. Accessible, dark mode, no build step. Preview. The full 16-page Keystone is $29 on Gumroad.
- The data story - 57.2% of small-business mail domains publish no DMARC record at all.
Builds
- Loose Ends - a hands-first WebXR evening wind-down: speak what is on your mind, sort it by pinch, voice or a look. Try it
- Owed - an invoice-collections agent on PayPal.
- LineupLab - plans an event lineup from taste data. Live
- SiteKeeper - an owner files an issue, an agent ships the change to a small site, tests it live and rolls back on failure.
Paid fixes
If one of the checks above found something on your site, the fixes are written up with before and after at stephen-psaradellis.github.io/demos, each with a fixed price. Agencies: prospect packs - local businesses whose site is down or broken, with the evidence.
