Support randomized SQLite database storage - #4344
Conversation
Accept db-path.php when detecting an existing Personal WP site before mounting it. Keep the legacy .ht.sqlite check for older databases. Related: WordPress/sqlite-database-integration#502

Use WordPress environment metadata for database paths, sizes, and downloads in Playground and Personal WP. Share the path lookup between both panels. Register the metadata writer from a common preload and save at PHP shutdown so a failing site MU plugin does not prevent database recovery. Support legacy WordPress through the same writer, and ignore requests without a WordPress database object. Verify active custom paths, failed-boot recovery, and legacy metadata. Point the CLI guide to database directories and explain randomized and legacy layouts in the export guide. Keep the database directory together when copying a site. Related: WordPress/sqlite-database-integration#502
Read filesystem metadata instead of copying the database into JavaScript just to determine its size.
Use DB_PATH when defined so the saved metadata follows its precedence over FQDB. Keep FQDB as the fallback for older SQLite integration versions.

LGTM 👍 ! I only added two nice to have if you decide to change that but they are not mandatory.
Replace deprecated run() calls with runStream(). Read stdout, stderr, and the exit code, and reject PHP failures before accepting a database path or size.
Motivation for the change, related issues
The SQLite integration is adding randomized database directories and Playground currently assumes a fixed
.ht.sqlitepath. This PR adds support for the new randomized storage while keeping compatibility with the existing storage as well.Implementation details
Playground already writes the runtime SQLite database path to
wp-env.php, but some changes and improvements are still needed. The changes cover:wp-env.phpfor the database panels and downloads.db-path.php, with the existing.ht.sqlitefallback.DB_PATHin database metadata, withFQDBas a fallback.Adminer and phpMyAdmin already read
wp-env.php, so their database adapters need no changes.Testing Instructions (or ideally a Blueprint)
Have your agent use a SQLite integration build from the linked PR. Check the database panel path, size, and download; edit data through Adminer and phpMyAdmin; save and reopen a Personal WP site; try legacy WP.

.ht.sqlitefile can be recognized.
