• codegen: generate does not check CodeGenConfig::extern_paths, so a direct caller's malformed proto name is kept and never matches a type

  enhancement

• codegen, descriptor: an extension of a message_set_wire_format message cannot have a number above 2^29 - 1

• descriptor: PoolError::InvalidJsonName covers two different failures, and MalformedMapEntry::message holds a field name

  enhancement
anthropics/buffa#641 · Filter by author iainmcgin opened on Oct 7, 2026

• descriptor: the pool never parses default_value, so an invalid default links and DynamicMessage::get ignores a valid one

• descriptor: a type_name without a leading dot is looked up as fully qualified instead of being resolved against the enclosing scope
