The supported local environment is Docker. Start the development server with:
docker compose up --buildThe site is available at http://localhost:8080.
For a production-style build:
docker compose run --rm jekyll npm install
docker compose run --rm jekyll npm run buildThe generated site is written to _site/, which is ignored by Git.
Team, Projects, Publications, News, and Education are maintained through a separate private content-management workflow. The public repository contains only the generated website content and published assets.
Generated files should not be edited manually when the change belongs to the content workflow. Local service-account credentials, synchronization configuration, shared CSV sources, upload folders, and internal documentation are kept outside the public repository.
Connect this repository to a Cloudflare Pages project and use:
- Production branch:
main - Build command:
npm run build - Build output directory:
_site - Root directory:
/
Cloudflare reads .ruby-version and .node-version, so the build uses the same pinned runtimes as local development. No deployment secrets are required for Git-integrated builds. Add arcolab.unicampus.it as a custom domain in the Pages dashboard after the first successful deployment.
The production build runs Jekyll and then removes unused CSS. Cloudflare-specific response headers are published from _headers.
The ArCo Lab visual identity is stored in assets/branding/arco/. The main logo is used by the website and this README.
