What did you change, and why?

Desktop tests required exact model response text and executed SQL through the DBSQL MCP. This made them sensitive to harmless response changes and SQL compute availability.

Both existing Desktop journeys now require HTTP 200 and a valid, nonempty assistant response. Their installed Cowork plugin uses system.ai.web_search to find Databricks’ official website, checking the returned URL without matching generated wording. Existing configuration, credential-helper, preservation, reconfigure, and revert checks remain. Tests and documentation only.

How do you know it works?

  • Complete system.ai Desktop lifecycle passed locally against a real workspace using installed UG and Claude 2.1.290, including inference and the installed-plugin MCP call.
  • All 98 integration-contract checks passed.
  • Ruff lint/format and Ty passed.
  • Subscription-relay and Windows journeys still need CI validation.
