Release 2.2.0. Everything since 2.1.0 adds features (#101 to #104), so this is a minor version. The full list is in the CHANGELOG's 2.2.0 section.

Changes

  • Version 2.2.0 in package.json and package-lock.json, and the Unreleased changelog section dated as 2.2.0 (an empty Unreleased section stays above it).

The package

vsce package (vsce 4.0.0 on Node 22) builds vscode-notes-2.2.0.vsix: 31 files, 173 KB, with no node_modules, .github, source or tests. Its manifest says 2.2.0 with 8 settings, and the bundle contains Open Preview, the recently opened history, Sort By and the name template.

Installed into a clean VS Code 1.140 with code --install-extension (no development path, extensions enabled), it showed as dionmunk.vscode-notes@2.2.0 and:

  • showed Workspace Notes above Notes, with New Note, New Folder, Search and Sort By in the title bar, and Reveal in File Explorer, Refresh Notes and Settings in the ... menu
  • offered Open Preview in the right-click menu of a Markdown note
  • listed a note opened a moment before under "recently opened" in List Notes
  • filled in New Note's name from notes.newNoteName (2026-10-07) and created 2026-10-07.md on Enter
  • created a note from the List Notes search, and Search Notes found a note by its contents

After merging

  1. Tag the merge as v2.2.0 and create the GitHub release with the 2.2.0 changelog section, attaching the .vsix.
  2. Publish the same .vsix to the Marketplace.

- version 2.2.0, and the Unreleased changelog section dated as 2.2.0: Open
Preview and opening notes like the Explorer (#101), recently opened notes
first in List Notes (#102), Sort By (#103), and the new note name
  template (#104)
