Refresh Universal Audio: 10 new, 1 discontinued, 0 updated.

Adds the Volt Gen 2 and Volt Max audio interfaces, the UAD Enigmatic '82
Overdrive Special and Topline Vocal Tune plug-ins, and the UA Connect and
UAD Console applications. Retires the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble plug-in,
whose page is gone. Ten renamed products were matched to the entries they
already have rather than duplicated, and their new names and urls are
left for review.

description: Two-in, two-out USB audio interface with a Tone Shaping preamp and
32-bit, 192 kHz conversion.
details: |-
Volt 1 Gen 2 is a bus-powered desktop USB audio interface built around a single Tone Shaping preamp with 60 dB of gain. Three character modes, Warmth, Focus and Shine, colour the input in the manner of classic analog mic preamps.

A rear mic and line combo input pairs with a front-panel Hi-Z instrument input, so a voice and a guitar can be captured at the same time. Switchable 48V phantom power supports condenser microphones, and Clip Protection guards against peaks.

The interface is class-compliant and USB bus-powered, so it runs from a computer, iPad or iPhone without an external supply. Built-in loopback serves podcasting and streaming, and the unit integrates with the UAD Console app and the LUNA digital audio workstation.

- 2-in / 2-out USB audio interface
- 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion
- Supported sample rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192 kHz

- Warmth, Focus and Shine character modes
- Switchable 48V phantom power
- Front-panel Hi-Z instrument input
- Built-in loopback
- USB bus-powered, 2.4W typical and 3.6W maximum at 5VDC

Set rear mic/line input positions to Right. Both entries describe these inputs as rear-mounted, but the I/O records use position: Top.

  • data/hardware/universal-audio-volt-1-gen-2.yaml#L55-L55: Set the rear mic/line input to position: Right.
  • data/hardware/universal-audio-volt-2-gen-2.yaml#L65-L65: Set rear mic/line input 1 to position: Right.
  • data/hardware/universal-audio-volt-2-gen-2.yaml#L73-L73: Set rear mic/line input 2 to position: Right.

As per path instructions, “Rear-panel jacks are position: Right on pedals, desktop and rack gear.”

Volt 2 Gen 2 is a bus-powered desktop USB audio interface with two Tone Shaping preamps, each offering 60 dB of gain and the Warmth, Focus and Shine character modes that stand in for classic analog mic preamps.

description: Ten-in, four-out desktop USB audio interface with Tone Shaping
preamps and onboard Max compression.
details: |-
Volt 2 Max is a desktop USB audio interface with two Tone Shaping preamps, each giving 60 dB of gain across the Warmth, Focus and Shine harmonic character modes.

Max Processing adds onboard realtime compression with six musical presets for vocals, guitars and bass, modelled on classics such as the LA-2A and the 1176. Pairing the Tone and Max stages yields over eighteen character combinations.

Two mic and line combo inputs pair with two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs. An ADAT or S/PDIF optical input adds up to eight channels of digital expansion, and MIDI In and Out are provided. A built-in talkback microphone, two headphone outputs sharing one cue mix, and a full-colour Smart Display with gain-reduction metering complete the unit.

UA’s **Read Manual** links are on the official product pages below. UA’s older Volt 4 hardware-manual page is for the original Volt 4, **not** the Volt 4 Gen 2. ([help.uaudio.com](https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/8588391492372-Volt-4-Hardware-Manual?utm_source=openai))

| **Volt 2 Max** | USB-C host connection, USB hub, external USB power input, MIDI In/Out on **⅛-inch TRS Type A** jacks, and optical **input** supporting ADAT or S/PDIF. ADAT supports up to 8 channels at 44.1/48 kHz, 4 at 96 kHz, or 2 at 192 kHz; S/PDIF carries 2 channels. | **Volt 4 Gen 2** | USB-C host connection, USB hub, MIDI In/Out on **⅛-inch TRS Type A** jacks, and optical **input** for ADAT or S/PDIF. **In short:** these models have MIDI and optical digital **input**; the cited specs do not describe an optical output. For 4 Max versus 4P Max, the main analog-I/O distinction is two mic preamps plus two line inputs on the 4 Max, versus four mic preamps on the 4P Max. Use Right for the confirmed rear-panel connectors.

UA identifies the listed optical, MIDI, and USB connections as rear-panel connections. It also identifies the external USB power inputs as rear-panel connections on Volt 2 Max, Volt 4 Max, and Volt 4P Max. These entries currently use position: Top; set them to Right.
