Typing
IDELEPHCshows a small elephant head from behind in the pistol slot and changes the marine portrait to an elephant. The head stays low in the view, with broad ears that flap when firing red/orange elephant projectiles. The weapon uses pistol ammo and cadence. Typing the code again restores the pistol and marine portrait. The HUD elephant glances around and reacts to five health bands, firing, damage, pickups, invulnerability and death. The mode survives level changes and saves, and resets with a fresh player. Expressions use existing player state and require no new save fields.
Original pixel art is generated into memory using the WAD palette and rendered through existing clipping and projectile collision paths. The WAD file stays unchanged, its original bytes determine save fingerprints, and appended sprite/type records preserve legacy save indices.
Validation: 15 focused elephant tests (93 assertions) covering firing, collisions, persistence, expression priorities, health bands, portrait bounds and the rear head's low position and two ears; native SDL build; inspected real shareware E1M1 idle/firing frames and the portrait sheet. Native CI runs the full gameplay/tooling suites and packaging on Linux x86_64, Linux ARM64 and macOS ARM64.
