Adds 924 library sounds across five synths, each a lesson built from the panel's defaults, and fixes what code review found in them.

Synth Before After New
SOLAR 42N 33 191 158
E7 10 200 190
SYNTRX II 12 200 188
Super Gemini 10 208 198
Take 5 10 200 190
  • Each synth's check baseline (.context/app/check/*.json) is re-recorded with the new sounds, and seed-data.test.ts counts are updated.
  • SOLAR 42N sounds say when a step needs a multiple, which is when one output first goes to a second input.

Code-review fixes (566b4b9)

  • The 377 new sounds that said "Classic technique" now name the genre, tradition or player where the sound is heard. The older sounds on main are left for Housekeeping.
  • Every step in the new Super Gemini sounds names each control it sets and its value (391 steps), using the panel's own value formatting.
  • Three tweaks that did nothing or pointed the wrong way are fixed (e7-snare, sg-hand-clap, t5-mays-lead). A scan of every new tweak finds no others.
  • Removed a duplicate tag, matched artist to ref on three sounds, and changed 43 refs to curly quotes.

Gates

  • /pre-pr, /security-review and /code-review are done; the code-review findings are fixed above.
  • The catalogue tests pass (171/171), and the seed validator accepts every new sound.
  • Prettier is clean on the changed files.

Not checked by eye

These sounds haven't been played yet. The owner will check them by ear once the app is complete.

Eight familiar sounds from different genres (acid, Reese, wobble,
synthwave brass, house pluck, chiptune, phased keys, a dub-techno chord)
and nineteen that only the 42N makes: drones tuned as drawbars, relayed
by their envelopes and stepped through chords by the sequencer on the
eye; Papa Srapa insects, lasers, radio and a resonator; the envelope
follower fed from VCO A; audio-rate filter FM; looping envelopes in
polyrhythm; a different path on each side; all eight voices at once.
The baseline is re-recorded: the 33 earlier sounds are unchanged and no
new one clips or is silent.

Eight more from familiar genres (trap 808, Italo octave bass, trance
lead, funk clav, rave hoover, minimal-techno blip, a flute with Papa
Srapa breath, a horror cluster) and nineteen 42N patches: SPLIT's right
gate opening a drone, VCO B's oscillator past its envelope into
EXT.AUDIO, VCO A synced to a Papa Srapa's modulator, the sequencer
playing a Papa Srapa or stepping MAGIC's pitch shift, sample and holds
on a drone's eye, a delay's time and another voice's pitch, audio-rate
PWM and FM, a looping envelope on the eye, the follower fed from WET
OUT R, a sub-audio VCO as a key-tracked LFO, VOLT thunder, a joystick
siren, a drone's envelope on the filter and the resonance flanger. The
baseline is re-recorded: the 60 earlier sounds are unchanged and no new
one clips or is silent.

Fourteen in the style of ambient artists (Eno's airport loops as two
looping envelopes, Stars of the Lid, Radigue's slow beating between
near-unison generators, Budd, Basinski, Yoshimura, Vangelis, Biosphere,
Gas, Roach, Hecker, Oliveros, Richter, Tangerine Dream) and thirteen
that lean on the drones' free tuning and eyes: just intonation, the
harmonic series, a church bell's partials, a choir of wavering eyes,
two clocks playing generative bells, the pulser as the tide, a chord
sliding against another over a minute, a starfield, a breathing filter.

Laser Battle no longer says MAGIC's Reverse pitch delay reverses: the
app plays it as a pitch delay with a second voice an octave down.

The baseline is re-recorded: the 87 earlier sounds are unchanged and no
new one clips or is silent.

Eleven in the style of artists and genres (Derbyshire's gallop, a
Carpenter ostinato, the S U R V I V E arpeggio, Oxygène strings, a
psytrance roll, FM bass through VCO B's normal, industrial, Radiophonic
swoops, Tomita, a house organ bass, lo-fi keys); a kick, snare and
808-style cowbell from the VCOs and a Papa Srapa; bagpipes, tanpura and
didgeridoo from the classic drones; and ten 42N patches: the preamp as
a fuzz, sequenced drone stabs, envelope-thrown echoes, VCO B FM on a
drone's eye, a melody from one generator, a joystick axis per filter,
quartal stacks from both subs, linked filters in two modes, a bee swarm
and a pulser-clocked sample and hold on the filter. The baseline is
re-recorded: the 114 earlier sounds are unchanged and no new one clips
or is silent.

Twenty-six sounds send one output to more than one input, which the
app allows but a real 42N jack, taking one plug, does not. The step
that adds the second cable now says the hardware needs stackable
cables or a multiple for it. Text only: no sound's fingerprint moves.

Nineteen in the style of artists and genres (Kraftwerk, Boards of
Canada, Switched-On Bach on the split keyboard, French filter house,
Moroder's octave bass, Ciani, Hassell, Burial, "On the Run", a trailer
braam, shoegaze, Reich phasing from the two Papa Srapa voices, Riley,
Subotnick, vaporwave, Frippertronics, G-funk, gabber, Sun Ra); fifteen
instruments (a joystick theremin, musette, steel pan, marimba,
harpsichord, cello, kalimba, music box, fretless bass, Leslie organ,
throat singing, hurdy-gurdy, erhu, gamelan, koto); a hi-hat, a
delay-flammed clap and pitch-swept toms; eleven sound effects and scenes;
a whistling filter played by the keyboard's v/oct and a harmony stepped
by the keyboard's gate. The baseline is re-recorded: the 141 earlier
sounds are unchanged and no new one clips, is silent or is quiet.

Pads (warm, glass, string machine, brassy, PWM, sweep, dark drone,
fifths, tremolo, breathing, drifting voices, octave, worn tape,
cinematic swell, gliding chords, choir, ambient wash, reverse swell, sub,
key-tracked), strings (film, pizzicato, violin, tremolo, cellos,
staccato), brass (stabs, horns, fanfare, synth-rock, trumpet, sax, tuba,
arena, Vangelis), keys (electric piano, clav, organs, harpsichord,
vibraphone, bells, toy piano, house stab, dub chord), 22 basses and 20
leads. The baseline is re-recorded: the earlier sounds are unchanged and
no new one clips or is silent.

Plucks (trance, harp, koto, marimba, kalimba, a dotted-eighth echo
guitar, a glass ping, bubbles, arpeggios, a Berlin School sequence),
effects (lasers, wind, surf, sirens, random bubbles, a UFO, an alarm,
birds, explosions, an engine, risers and falls), drums from the voices,
more keys and organs, world instruments (sitar, bagpipes, accordion,
harmonica, steel drum, guitars, banjo, glass harmonica), sounds in the
style of thirty artists and genres, and techniques (sync pads, a
key-tracked vibrato, velocity brass, a mod-wheel growl, clock-synced
pumps, gates and sample-and-hold). The baseline is re-recorded: the
earlier sounds are unchanged and no new one clips, is silent or is quiet.

Each a matrix patch whose steps name the points they set. Basses (saw,
sub, acid, pulse, super saw, sync, ring, FM, dub, octave, gritty,
wobble), leads (pulse, sine, detuned, resonant, sync swept by Oscillator
3, fifths, the self-oscillating filter, a breathy flute, an S&H
staircase), keys and plucks (harp, tower bells, a three-oscillator organ,
clav, mallet, ring-mod keys), strings, brass and pads; looping-trapezoid
drones, tremolo, sweeps, PWM, S&H on the filter, pitch and the decay, a
bit-crusher, effects (laser, siren, UFO, wind, surf, thunder,
helicopter, steam, a Radiophonic robot, alarm, birds, crickets,
heartbeat), drums, dub echoes, a self-oscillating delay, the joystick as
wah, theremin, ring tuner and panner, the envelope follower reading the
Scope column, and a feedback loop through Input 2. The baseline is
re-recorded: the earlier sounds are unchanged and no new one clips or is
silent.

Sounds in the style of the Synthi's players and heirs (Pink Floyd,
Hawkwind, Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Eno, The Who, the Radiophonic
Workshop, Schulze, Derbyshire, Throbbing Gristle, Suicide, Silver
Apples, Subotnick, Radigue, Oliveros, Reich, Riley, La Monte Young,
Aphex Twin, Autechre, the Chemical Brothers, the Prodigy, Jon Hopkins,
Caterina Barbieri, Ciani, Spiegel, Cabaret Voltaire, Coil); keyboard
instruments, strings, brass, basses and leads; Oscillator 3 as a fixed
drone under the keys (bagpipes, sitar); percussion from filter pings,
noise and the shortest delay; drones and textures; and matrix
techniques (the high-pass swept, Oscillator 3 on the Decay, a wave
routed out through the Scope column and back, ducking with the envelope
follower, Input 2 as a drive, the S&H crushing drums, FM bells, two
patches on two channels, a chain through every section). The baseline
is re-recorded: the earlier sounds are unchanged and no new one clips,
is silent or is quiet.

Supersaws (trance chords, lead, pluck, a gated pad, hardstyle, dream
piano, the hoover), pads in one layer and in two (warm, glass, PWM,
octave and fifth layers, drift, sweep, choir, a dark drone, breath,
two layers moving at their own speeds, an ambient wash), strings,
brass and orchestral layers (a string machine, film strings, strings
over horns, stabs, poly brass, fanfare, cello, tremolo, an orchestra
hit), keys (electric and FM pianos, clav, organs, harpsichord, vibes,
ring bells, a split bass and keys), basses and leads. The baseline is
re-recorded: the earlier sounds are unchanged and no new one clips or
is silent. The ten earlier sounds already differ from their baseline at HEAD (engine drift since t-118, not this change); their fingerprints are kept as they were, and only the new sounds are added.

hats, clap, toms, cowbell, rimshot, shaker, conga, zaps); effects
(riser, downlifter, ocean, rain, a film computer, UFO, alarm,
heartbeat, wind, a spaceship hum); drones (binaural, cluster, sub,
tanpura, organ); wind, strings, brass, keys and plucks; and the panel's
own tricks (LFO 1 at audio rate on HF TRACK, ONCE and RESET, LR PHASE,
DDS 2 at LFO range as tremolo and throb, VCF DDS 2, the envelope hold
stages, PW/WAVE by envelope and by hand, POLY 2, OCTAVE, HOLD, SPLIT and
DUAL layers). Every sound names a player or the genre it is heard in.
The baseline is re-recorded: the earlier sounds' fingerprints are kept
as they were (the ten oldest already differ, as noted in 8d78955),
and no new one clips, is silent or is quiet.

(dubstep, trap, Italo disco, Hi-NRG, lo-fi hip-hop, gamelan, steelpan,
musette, Highland pipes, koto, bossa nova); and the panel's own tricks
(FM 2→1 for electric pianos, bells, mallets and gongs, LFO 1 on Osc 2
Freq to move only the FM modulator, Envelope 1 as Aux on Osc 1 or Osc 2
Freq for sync tears and talking timbres, SYNC 2→1 swept by LFO 1, LFO 2
per voice, the gated third ENV ROUTING for organs, VINTAGE, both drives,
pink and white noise, the arpeggiator's modes, octaves and triplet
divisions, and the effects). Every sound names a player or the genre it
is heard in. The baseline is re-recorded: the ten older sounds'
fingerprints are kept as they were (they already differ from the engine
at HEAD), and no new one is silent or quiet. The church organ
peaks at 0.99; the next commit lowers it.

bass, Cuban son, samba, EDM, arcade games, chiptune, Hindustani
classical, singing bowls, old-time radio); drums (kicks, snare, hats,
clap, toms, cowbell, claves, conga, shaker, syndrum); effects (riser,
downlifter, laser, surf, rain, thunder, a film computer, sirens, a
saucer, heartbeat, helicopter, chimes, bubbles, alarms); drones; and
more of the panel's own tricks (Envelope 1 as Aux on Cutoff and on
Resonance, an upside-down filter envelope, a square LFO 1 trilling Osc 2
alone, sample-and-hold on pitch and on each voice's cutoff, the filter
self-oscillating, the high-pass effect for hats and a radio, a
dotted-eighth delay, a runaway tape echo, the flanger, VINTAGE turned
right up, and the arpeggiator's Assign and Random orders). Every sound
names a player or the genre it is heard in. The church organ from the
last commit is lowered so it no longer clips. The baseline is
re-recorded: the older sounds' fingerprints are kept as they were, and
no new one clips, is silent or is quiet.
