~/about_me

I like building things that cross abstraction boundaries.

One project might begin with D3D11 textures, UDP packets and authenticated encryption.
Another ends up involving React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker sandboxing and an online judge.
Somewhere nearby, a Raspberry Pi is inevitably being asked to do something unreasonable.

My main playgrounds are:

  • ๐Ÿง  competitive programming & algorithms
  • โš™๏ธ systems programming & performance
  • ๐ŸŒ networking, self-hosting & infrastructure
  • ๐Ÿ” security-conscious application design
  • ๐Ÿงฎ mathematics, physics & computational experiments
  • ๐Ÿค– robotics, computer vision & machine learning
  • ๐Ÿ“ˆ market data & quantitative experiments
  • ๐ŸŽฎ games, game systems & anime-flavored interfaces

I enjoy projects where architecture actually matters: clear boundaries, reproducible deployments, diagnostics that explain failures, and abstractions that do not leak everywhere the moment production looks at them funny.

๐ŸŒ‰ Bridge

A declarative edge for self-hosted applications.

Bridge owns the public networking boundary so every application does not need its own pile of tunnel credentials, Nginx fragments and deployment hacks.

  • JSON service registration
  • health-gated routing
  • transactional Nginx reloads
  • Cloudflare integration
  • strict loopback-origin model
  • Linux x86_64 / ARM64
  • Raspberry Pi
  • Windows + Docker Desktop

Small infrastructure component.
Very large reduction in spaghetti.

โ›๏ธ mcsvr

Cross-platform Minecraft server management.

A local daemon plus interactive control panel for running real Minecraft installations without turning server administration into shell-command archaeology.

Features

  • Vanilla / Paper / Fabric / Forge / NeoForge
  • automatic Java runtime management
  • multiple server instances
  • crash recovery & autostart
  • live console
  • backups & staged restores
  • mod/plugin management
  • dependency resolution
  • OP & delegated command controls
  • systemd + Windows Services
  • Linux + Windows

Because apparently running Minecraft needed an orchestration layer too.

๐Ÿงช Smaller experiments & side quests

A cross-platform BUFF market scanner for identifying statistically interesting trades and trade-ups under configurable risk and budget constraints.

It deliberately does not execute trades automatically. Data in, statistics happen, CSV comes out.

๐Ÿค– Robotics

Building with the FRC / WPILib ecosystem, including:

  • command-based robot architectures
  • CTRE Phoenix 6 / TalonFX
  • Limelight vision
  • AprilTag alignment
  • PID control
  • AdvantageKit logging

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Computer Vision

Experiments with:

  • YOLO object detection
  • OpenCV
  • HSV segmentation
  • real-time vision pipelines
  • dataset training & augmentation

๐Ÿง  Machine Learning

Modeling and ranking experiments involving:

  • recurrent neural networks
  • multi-criteria decision systems
  • normalized feature pipelines
  • Flask-backed inference services
  • optimization and scoring systems

๐Ÿงฎ Mathematics

I spend a perhaps unreasonable amount of time on problems involving:

combinatorics ยท functional iteration ยท Mรถbius transformations
probability ยท extremal structures ยท calculus ยท game trees

Sometimes the code exists to solve the mathematics.

Sometimes the mathematics exists because I accidentally invented a problem at 2 AM.

~/engineering_philosophy

01. Explicit architecture beats accidental architecture.
02. Security boundaries should be visible.
03. Deployment is part of the product.
04. Diagnostics are features.
05. Tests should attack assumptions, not just functions.
06. Performance problems deserve measurement.
07. If the abstraction leaks, fix the abstraction.
08. If it can run on a Raspberry Pi, that's a bonus.
09. If it can also run on Windows, now we're having fun.
10. Never underestimate what starts with "small side project."

๐ŸŒŒ Outside the editor

When I'm not chasing a segmentation fault through seven layers of abstraction, you'll probably find me somewhere around:

competitive programming ยท physics ยท mathematics ยท chemistry
AI ยท robotics ยท markets ยท gaming ยท anime

I like understanding systems, whether the system happens to be a network protocol, an algorithm, a physical model, a market, or a game mechanic.

while (alive) { learn(); build(); iterate(); }

code ยท mathematics ยท packets ยท pixels ยท questionable amounts of curiosity
