and replace the splitter before forwarding typed reasoning, while preserving
splitting across adjacent text blocks. Apply the same boundary in streaming at

during cleanup. Add the interrupted text–typed-reasoning–text case to
tests/adapters/openai/openai-chat-mistral-content.test.ts for both paths,
ensuring the later answer remains answer text.

* Flush pending text before typed reasoning in both response paths. * Add four regression cases and document the boundary. Review: lidge-jun#7047 (comment)

Fixed in The four new regression cases fail on the previous commit and pass with the correction. All 51 Mistral cases and 721 related tests pass. Type, structure, privacy, whitespace, and documentation checks pass. The full suite and live model checks remain unrun. CI still needs maintainer approval. @coderabbitai review |

Reviewed at 1d8d96b. Typed text/thinking parsing is host-scoped to api.mistral.ai, string/other-host paths unchanged, malformed blocks fail closed with usage preserved, and typed reasoning resets the inline-think splitter in both paths (CodeRabbit finding addressed). Focused Mistral + inline-think + test-layout suites pass 63/0 on a merge with current dev; typecheck clean; CI green.
Summary
Problem
Mistral can send a typed content array, then a string, in the same response. The
openai-chatparser reads only string content. It drops the array's text and thinking blocks. A valid JSON answer then loses its opening bytes. The buffered parser also drops typed arrays. This was observed with
mistral/zai-glm-5-3on 2.78.0. Large 4 showed the same missing-prefix symptom in eight requests; its cause was not confirmed separately. The offline test below reproduces the byte loss ondevata5cd5a2b832d727cfef5e77c48547b47b1cbeebb(package 2.85.0).Reproduction

Expected thinking:
Synthetic reasoning.Actual thinking before the fix: empty.Adapter configuration:
{"adapter":"openai-chat","baseUrl":"https://api.mistral.ai/v1"}The offline test has no model dependency. It was run on Linux x64 with Bun 1.4.3. Mistral Vibe's parser also handles both content forms.
Change
api.mistral.ai.This change does not add Mistral signature replay.

The full suite and live GLM/Large checks remain unrun. Local checks use the repository's changed-test policy for a draft PR, with other projects running on the host. A broader test attempt was blocked by a sandbox request to
chatgpt.com; it is not a passing result. Required CI and review must complete before merge.Follow-up verification
Current commit:
1d8d96bd6.Typed reasoning now flushes and resets inline-tag parsing in both response paths. Four new regression cases fail on the previous commit and pass with this correction.
Repeated the verification commands above: 635 related tests pass, including all 51 Mistral cases; 86 additional layout and hygiene tests pass. Type, structure, privacy, whitespace, documentation build, and offline reproduction checks pass.
The full local suite was not run because other projects share the host resources. Broader coverage remains for CI. Live GLM/Large checks remain unrun. CI needs maintainer approval.
CodeRabbit reviewed this commit, found no new actionable comments, and resolved the original finding. Its docstring coverage warning remains.
