fix(messages-native): answer a spent Anthropic pool as a usage limit with its reset - #7330

Conversation
…with its reset lidge-jun#6991 made the bridge lane answer a 429 as "All Anthropic OAuth accounts have reached their usage limit; the first one resets at <time>" once the last pool account refuses on spent quota and rotation finds no replacement. The managed native Messages lane rotates through the same pool but, when it runs out, relays the upstream rate_limit_error ("try again later") unchanged, so Claude Code on that lane never learns the window is spent or when it reopens. After rotation ends on a 429, the native lane now asks the same anthropicPoolUsageLimitAfterRefusal the bridge uses and, when it holds, answers through the lane's existing AnthropicAccountCooldownError mapping (429 rate_limit_error, the usage-limit message, Retry-After). Intake/scoped review at The new native-pool exhaustion branch preserves the upstream request id and reports the earliest known reset after the last spent account, rather than treating it as an ordinary replayable 429. Keep the controls for transient throttling, available alternate accounts and bounded physical sends. OAuth refusal/rotation review remains required independently of the new fixture. Current-head functional workflows are awaiting fork approval; that is pending execution, not a passing test result. No local suite was run for this branch in this intake. No workflow approval, new scan, live configuration change or merge was performed. Required review/readiness gates remain in force. |
Summary
All Anthropic OAuth accounts have reached their usage limit; the first one resets at <time>once the last pool account refuses on spent quota and rotation finds no replacement. The managed native Messages lane (protocols.rollout.managedMessagesNative[OAuth]) rotates through the same pool, but when it runs out it relays the upstreamrate_limit_errorunchanged (This request would exceed your account's rate limit. Please try again later.), so Claude Code on that lane never learns the window is spent or when it reopens.anthropicPoolUsageLimitAfterRefusalthe bridge uses and, when it holds, answers through the lane's existingAnthropicAccountCooldownErrormapping (429rate_limit_error, the usage-limit message,Retry-After) and recordserrorCode = usage_limit_reached, as the bridge does.src/server/messages-native.tschanges (+11).Verification

Source: carried from the vadymhimself fork build (commit af51f85, "name the spent window on a 429"), re-authored much smaller: #6995 already answers the bridge lane with the usage limit and its reset, so this PR only brings the native lane to parity by reusing that helper. The fork's window-name annotation (
Fable window at 100%) is not carried.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
