Add an Apple Watch app - #785

…p and Trio The phone sends glucose, chart data and remote settings to the watch over WatchConnectivity; the watch holds no credentials. Commands from the watch are validated and sent by the phone through the existing Loop APNS and Trio Remote Control paths, gated by a new Remote setting. Includes WidgetKit complications, watch targets in fastlane and tests for the watch protocol.

…olbar, quick picks The glucose page shows BG with trend and delta, IOB and age in the top bar, a two-hour sparkline, and Override, Meal or Bolus, and Temp Target in the bottom toolbar. The full chart has its own page. Bolus offers the AID's recommendation and the phone's Quick-Pick boluses before a custom amount; Meal shows Quick-Pick meals and carbs, with fat, protein, bolus and time under More. A successful send shows Sent, notes that Loop or Trio confirms with a notification, and returns to the glucose page.

If I am reading correctly, this loses the independence of watch-only operation. Is this tethered only - always requiring a connection to the phone? |

It's work in progress, I am looking into adding untethered in the current PR (setting it to draft for now) |

Got it. Can reference what was shipped in mine, hope it helps. |

…789) * Center the watch BG with IOB and COB icons, and fix crown scrubbing on the chart page The trend arrow no longer shifts the BG digits or the delta off center, and IOB and COB share one line under the delta with syringe and fork-and-knife icons. On the chart page, crown focus is now requested after the page becomes focusable, so the crown scrubs instead of paging. A crown button in the toolbar shows the feature and toggles it. * Show BG, carbs and insulin under the watch chart while scrubbing The readout moves below the chart so it no longer collides with the toolbar buttons, and shows a range-colored dot with the BG plus any carbs and boluses that fall within the marker's five-minute crown step. * Show overrides on the watch: a band on the chart and the running one on the glucose page The phone now sends the override periods of the last 24 hours with their name and insulin needs, taking the percentage from the matching preset when Nightscout does not carry it. The chart draws them as a thin green band along the top, and the glucose page shows the running override's name and percentage under IOB and COB. * Show the override's name and percentage under the watch chart The line shows the running override, or the one at the marker while scrubbing, and shares its view with the glucose page.
Test✅ successful build
❌ I found the bolus adjustment on the watch to hard to control. I was did eventually select 0.05 U but it was hard
Configurationstart with this branch, feature/apple-watch and then start a new branch locally, feature/apple-watch-merge-dev 2026-10-25 15:40 Build onto my personal looping phone so I can add LoopFollow to app to my personal watch. My version of LoopFollow using my personal Nightscout URL. |
The crown moves the amount by whole steps, insulin fields use low crown sensitivity, and the buttons nudge the value by one step.
Test✅ The crown adjustment for selected bolus amount is much better with the most recent commit. I just discovered the +/- buttons which increment and decrement by 0.05 for bolus, 1 g for carbs and 5 minutes for time

Adds an Apple Watch app for Loop and Trio. It replaces #642, #641 and #594 and builds on ideas from all three; thanks to @aug0211 and @MtlPhil.
The watch shows BG, trend, IOB, COB and a graph, the phone's statistics and info table, and complications, and sends meal (with a bolus for Trio, as on the phone), bolus, override and temp target commands. The phone is the main source: it sends the data and checks and sends the commands with the same guardrails as its Remote screens. When the phone is off or out of reach, the watch fetches from Nightscout or Dexcom itself and sends commands directly, using credentials the phone copies to the watch keychain when they change. Insulin needs a full Digital Crown turn and an unlocked watch on the wrist. Requires watchOS 10 (Series 4 and newer).
Browser builders need to run Add Identifiers once and add the App Group to the two new watch identifiers; until then the build stops with a link to the instructions in loopandlearn/loopfollowdocs#72.
