The bounded reader rejects files past 4 MiB, but the same seam's writeText could still produce one: a serialized document can grow past the cap, and a Cline pending marker embeds the before-and-after pair. Either write strands the integration against a file its own reader then refuses.\n\nEnforce the same bound on the write half of the seam so an oversized mutation refuses instead of landing, and pin the boundary in the state, writer and Cline suites plus the structure doc. Review findings triage — all resolved in 5a9c154: Fixed
Dismissed — none; both findings were actionable. Checks: |

Done — both findings on PR #723 were real and are fixed in Fixed (2/2)
Dismissed — none. CodeRabbit was rate-limited (no findings) and the Codex connector reported none. Checks — Both threads are replied to and resolved, and the fixed-vs-dismissed summary is posted on the PR. Devin Review is re-running on the new head; CodeRabbit already passed. |
|
Follow-up review sweep: checked all pages of reviews, review comments, and issue comments from Devin Review, CodeRabbit, and the Codex connector. No unresolved findings remain.
No additional code changes or test reruns were needed in this pass; existing validation results are documented above. This is a no-op follow-up, not a new review approval or a claim that pending checks have completed. |
|
Checked all review and comment history on PR #723: no unresolved findings remain.
Posted a follow-up summary. No new changes, dismissals, or test reruns were needed. |

Review sweep complete across Devin Review, CodeRabbit, and the Codex connector. Fixed: the updated orphan-snapshot finding and public documentation gap are addressed in b3f5933. Size refusals before mutation remove only that attempt’s unused snapshot; cleanup failures retain and report its path. Retry/cleanup regression coverage and the public 4 MiB limit/recovery guidance are included. I reviewed this equivalent fix pushed by an overlapping run rather than adding a duplicate commit. Earlier write-boundary and integration-state coverage findings remain addressed in 5a9c154. All three review threads are answered and resolved. Dismissed: none. CodeRabbit posted no findings (review rate-limited). Codex has posted no findings; its latest security review is still marked running, so this is not a claim of completed Codex review. Validation: local equivalent-fix validation passed This is the single follow-up retry to the earlier size-limit fix; no further retry loop was started. PR remains unmerged. |

Completed PR #723 triage. All review threads are answered and resolved; none were dismissed.
Posted the fixed-versus-dismissed summary. PR remains unmerged. |

PR #723 still has one genuine issue: oversized Aside-profile retries retain unused backups. I replied to the finding and documented it in the PR, stopping at your one-retry limit.
No further commits or merge performed. |
|
The Codex notification reports completion, with no finding included. This doesn’t change the outstanding Aside issue or the one-retry stop; no further code changes are warranted from this update. |
|
CodeRabbit only changed its run ID; the comment still says review was skipped and contains no findings. No action needed. The previously documented Aside issue remains outstanding under your one-retry limit. |
|
Confirmed on latest head b238f94e: this is the same outstanding Aside cleanup bug. The relevant code is unchanged; only the review’s commit references and line number changed. No edits, commits, or duplicate review reply. I’ll leave your changes untouched unless you explicitly ask me to resume the fix. |

- Line 32: Update the bounded-read logic around `bytes`, `length`, and
`readSync` to size the initial buffer from `opened.size` and grow it only when
full, up to `limit + 1`. Preserve the overflow probe so reads still detect and
reject files that grow beyond `limit` after the size check.

Avoid allocating the complete read limit for small configurations. Grow only when the buffer fills and still read up to limit plus one to detect concurrent growth past the cap. Copy and return only initialized bytes; retain descriptor and path identity checks. Cover small allocations, empty and exact-limit files, growth after fstat, overflow after fstat, and concurrent shrink alongside integration regressions.
Retain the original zero-initialization of backing buffers while sizing small reads from the observed file size. Growth remains bounded by limit plus one and exposes only the bytes read.

✅ Deterministic PR hygiene checks passed. |

Update the current-head verification evidence after the dev merge. The public head is now At minimum, include the bounded-reader growth/shrink/overflow cases, integration writer/journal/state and Cline tests, both layout guards, plus typecheck/privacy/structure. This is a request to reconcile the author’s exact-head validation evidence, not a repeat of the allocation finding (already fixed) or the layout conflicts (already resolved in this merge). |

separate the oversized-file assertion from the symlink assertion so the boundary

portion when Windows denies `symlinkSync`; keep the symlink rejection check on

…eation symlinkSync throws without developer mode or privileges, which prevented the bounded-reader oversize check from running. The link assertion now runs only when creation succeeds.
