#1abc9c had 2.0:1 contrast on the page background, which was acceptable for a transient hover colour but not for the active page's link, which the SvelteKit rewrite started drawing in it. #0f705d is the same hue at 5.1:1. Submenu links drop their 0.85 opacity when hovered or active so the accent keeps that contrast.
