Branch: port/soniox-provider (worktree W:\wcb-wt\p083-soniox)
Commit: dcff7abd7 (on top of 5885a4af5)
Upstream: CodexBar 575a2446a

Summary

  • Adds a Soniox provider (disabled by default) that reads organization billing from the Soniox API with SONIOX_ORG_API_KEY.
  • Reads two endpoints: GET /v1/organization/balance (prepaid balance and whether invoice billing is enabled) and GET /v1/organization/usage/monthly (current month usage and monthly budget).
  • When a monthly budget is set, the budget meter feeds the tray and float bar percentage. It is kept off the card, and the same numbers appear as a "Monthly budget" progress row in a "Spend" section.
  • The details list has a "Billing" section: the billing method (Invoice billing or Prepaid) and, when no budget is set, the monthly budget as USD.
  • Cost: the monthly spend and budget limit are reported. The prepaid balance is reported when it is non-negative. Invoice accounts show spend only.
  • Error mapping: 401 reports an expired key, 403 reports missing permission, 429 reports rate limiting, and 5xx reports the service as unavailable. Response bodies are never echoed into errors.
  • Adds the provider icon, the provider catalog entry, the API key settings entry, and the docs and README rows.

Divergences from upstream

  • Upstream hides the budget meter by default. Windows has no default-hidden usage item, so the meter stays off the card and the card shows the same numbers as a "Spend" progress row.
  • A negative prepaid balance is not displayed. Upstream shows it; the Windows cost model only holds non-negative balances, and clamping it to zero would read as exhausted credits.
  • Pace and the "hide reset without date" option are not ported.
  • Test-only base-URL override added for proof runs: SONIOX_BASE_URL (see Proof override). Production always uses https://api.soniox.com/v1/organization.

Checks

  • cargo fmt --all -- --check: clean.
  • cargo fmt --all: clean.
  • Focused cargo test soniox (rust manifest): 18 passed, 0 failed.
  • cargo build --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml --example fake_grok_acp: passed.
  • cargo test --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml (full): lib 5297 passed, 0 failed, 2 ignored; bin 1 passed, 0 failed.
  • cargo clippy --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml --all-targets -- -D warnings: clean.
  • The Tauri manifest was not touched by this branch, so its suite and clippy were not run.
  • Registry snapshot (registry_matches_snapshot): regenerated with CODEXBAR_UPDATE_REGISTRY_SNAPSHOT=1; four new lines for Soniox; passes in the full lib run.
  • Frontend (pnpm test, pnpm run build): not re-run for the override commit, which changes no frontend file. Counts from the earlier draft (1617 tests) are not re-verified here.
  • Local Node is v22.22.0; CI pins 24.18.0. Not re-run on 24.18.0.

Proof override (SONIOX_BASE_URL)

  • SONIOX_BASE_URL replaces the organization API base (default https://api.soniox.com/v1/organization). It is read once when the provider is constructed.
  • Policy, copied from the Sub2API base URL check (providers/sub2api/mod.rs, validated_sub2api_base_url): https:// is accepted; http:// only for a loopback host (127.0.0.1, localhost, [::1]). Userinfo, query, fragment, and encoded host delimiters are rejected. A rejected or blank value is ignored with a warning and production is used.
  • No frontend invoke(...) commands were added, so no proof router handler is needed.
  • Documented in docs/PROVIDERS.md (Soniox section). The API key help text in settings/api_keys.rs names the variable.
  • Unit tests: base_url_override_accepts_https_and_loopback_http, base_url_override_rejects_remote_plain_http_and_unsafe_forms, base_url_override_falls_back_to_production_when_unset_or_invalid in rust/src/providers/soniox/tests.rs.

How the fake proof will run

  • Start a fake Soniox server on 127.0.0.1:<port> that answers GET /v1/organization/balance and GET /v1/organization/usage/monthly with bearer auth and returns synthetic bodies.
  • Launch the desktop app in proof mode with SONIOX_BASE_URL=http://127.0.0.1:<port>/v1/organization, the Soniox key from SONIOX_ORG_API_KEY (a synthetic value), and isolated APPDATA, LOCALAPPDATA, USERPROFILE, HOME, and CODEXBAR_CONFIG under %TEMP%.
  • Planned card check: fake budget of 100 USD and usage of 25 USD. Expect the "Spend" section to show "Monthly budget" with "$25.00 of $100.00" and the Billing rows.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added Soniox as a supported provider, authenticated with an organization API key.
    • View prepaid balance, current-month spend against the monthly budget, and billing method.
    • When a positive monthly budget is available, usage appears in a progress meter. Billing details are shown when no positive budget is set; cost balance is omitted for invoice billing or a negative available balance.
    • Added Soniox branding throughout the provider list.
  • Documentation
    • Added setup guidance for credentials, required account permissions, billing information, and optional connection settings.

Factory Agent added 2 commits October 23, 2026 15:55
Port the Soniox organization balance and monthly spend from upstream
CodexBar (575a244). Reads the balance and monthly usage endpoints with
SONIOX_ORG_API_KEY, shows the monthly budget as a spend meter when a
budget is set, and lists the balance and spend under a Billing section.

Full details: Secrets Handled Safely

Explanation

No changed path exposes a real credential. SonioxProvider obtains keys through the shared resolve_api_key helper and sends them only with bearer_auth; the provider does not log the key or include it in ProviderError messages. HTTP failures use status-only messages, parse failures name only fields, and response bodies are discarded. The base URL validator rejects credentials, queries, and fragments, and invalid overrides log only a fixed warning. The added fixture-key values are synthetic test fixtures, consistent with existing provider tests. No changed code deletes or overwrites another application's credential files or keyring entries.

Full details: No Unapproved Dependencies

Explanation

The pull-request diff changes no Cargo.toml, package.json, npm/yarn/pnpm lockfile, or pnpm workspace/package-manager file. Therefore, it adds no dependency, lockfile, or pinned pnpm version change that requires maintainer approval.

Full details: Provider Data Stays Siloed

Explanation

The pull request adds ProviderId::Soniox to the provider-specific match in rust/src/core/token_accounts.rs (the shared TokenAccountSupport::for_provider implementation). This is cross-provider branching outside the permitted rust/src/providers/<name>/ and rust/src/core/provider_factory.rs locations. The prior failure remains present in the reviewed diff.

Resolution

Remove the ProviderId::Soniox arm from rust/src/core/token_accounts.rs. If Soniox needs capability metadata, represent it in provider-local data or through an allowed factory dispatch.

Full details: Ui Changes Include Windows Proof

Explanation

The PR changes visible UI. The diff adds the Soniox provider icon in apps/desktop-tauri/src/components/providers/providerIcons.ts and adds Soniox to the Settings API-key provider list in rust/src/settings/api_keys.rs. The available PR description only describes how a fake proof will run and reports that the Tauri suite was not run. It does not provide screenshots or a completed proof note from a fresh Windows build. The prior failure therefore remains unresolved.

Resolution

Run a fresh Windows build with this change. Verify the Soniox provider icon and Settings provider entry. Add screenshots or a completed fresh-Windows proof note to the PR description.

@coderabbitai Fixed in 9a53585: the note now says the budget meter is hidden on the card (hidden_on_card) and only feeds the tray and float-bar percentages, while the card shows the same numbers as the Spend detail row. Docs-only change.

🟡 Minor · Warn for a present blank override. · mod.rs:143-148

rust/src/providers/soniox/mod.rs:143-148
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Warn for a present blank override.

SonioxProvider::new reads SONIOX_BASE_URL and passes it to base_url_from_override. clean_override trims whitespace, so a blank or whitespace-only value becomes empty. The filter then removes that value and returns the production URL without logging. This silently sends requests to https://api.soniox.com/v1/organization and hides the invalid configuration.

Preserve the silent fallback only when the environment variable is absent. Warn when it is present but empty.

@coderabbitai Fixed in 2e6d9f1: a present but blank or whitespace-only SONIOX_BASE_URL now logs the same 'Ignoring SONIOX_BASE_URL' warning as an invalid value before falling back to production. An absent variable still falls back silently. Existing tests for None, blank and invalid overrides still pass (18 Soniox tests); clippy clean.

Require the organization path in SONIOX_BASE_URL.

validated_base_url accepts https://api.soniox.com, but get_object appends only /balance and /usage/monthly. The resulting requests omit /v1/organization and can fail against the documented Soniox API.

@coderabbitai Fixed in 5bc5c90: validated_base_url now requires the path to end in /v1/organization (a proxy prefix such as /proxy/v1/organization is still allowed), since requests append only /balance and /usage/monthly. A root URL such as https://api.soniox.com, or /v1 alone, is ignored with the warning, which now names the required path. New test cases cover both. docs/PROVIDERS.md states the path rule and that a blank value is also ignored with a warning. 18 Soniox tests pass; clippy clean.
