Ports upstream steipete/CodexBar commit 0538e94 (PR steipete#4695) to Win-CodexBar.

Summary

  • Cursor accounts on the X Subscription unified pool now show the weekly pool as the main meter, labelled "Weekly".
  • The pool is used only when all of these hold: the sand usage feed reports isUnified: true, the pool window is 7 days (10080 minutes), and its reset is still in the future.
  • When the pool is the main meter, the monthly Auto and API lanes are hidden and the Grok Bot extra is not shown, because it would repeat the pool.
  • On-demand cost is unchanged.
  • Trial-only accounts, expired resets, non-unified accounts and pools that are not 7 days long keep the existing monthly layout, with no "Weekly" label.
  • The "Weekly" label is set per snapshot through the existing primary_label field. No new bridge field was added. The frontend maps it to the localized "Weekly" string.
  • The tray tooltip reads the primary window's percentage, so it shows the weekly figure. It does not print a label word, so the tooltip text itself is unchanged.

Not included (macOS-only parts of the upstream PR, not ported in this change):

  • Weekly-based quota warning thresholds and notification routing.
  • The widget dynamic title.
  • Menu card warning markers.
  • The upstream menuBarExtras mapping that points a saved "Grok Bot" menu-bar metric at the pool. Users who saved "Grok Bot" as their menu-bar metric will see "Grok Bot –" (unknown) until that is handled in a follow-up.

Checks

Run in worktree port/cursor-weekly-pool:

  • cargo fmt --all --check: pass.
  • cargo test --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml cursor: 99 passed, 0 failed.
  • cargo test --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml: 5284 passed, 0 failed, 2 ignored (lib), plus the other test targets, all passing.
  • cargo clippy --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml --all-targets -- -D warnings: pass.
  • cargo test --manifest-path apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/Cargo.toml: 804 passed, 0 failed.
  • cargo clippy --manifest-path apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/Cargo.toml --all-targets -- -D warnings: pass.
  • pnpm test (apps/desktop-tauri): 164 test files, 1618 tests, all passing.
  • pnpm run build: pass.
  • pnpm proof:check: 47 of 47 scenarios PASS, including tray-cursor-weekly and flyout-cursor-weekly. Run in Chromium with mocked IPC.

New tests:

  • api/tests.rs: unified_weekly_pool_with_a_future_reset_takes_the_primary_meter.
  • api/tests.rs: unified_weekly_pool_without_a_usable_reset_keeps_the_monthly_layout (non-unified, missing flag, trial only, expired reset).
  • api/tests.rs: unified_pool_that_is_not_seven_days_keeps_the_monthly_layout.
  • api/tests.rs: unified_weekly_pool_is_read_from_the_sand_feed_over_http (mock HTTP).
  • mod.rs: unified_weekly_pool_is_the_weekly_primary_without_grok_bot_extra.

Proof fixture: cursor-weekly in apps/desktop-tauri/src/proof/fixtures/scenarios.ts, with two scenarios in apps/desktop-tauri/scripts/proof-scenarios.json. Synthetic data only: cursor.user@example.com, plan "Cursor Enterprise".

Not run: CUA desktop proof of the real tray icon and tray menu. The change is data-only, but AGENTS.md asks for CUA on tray changes, so it still needs a desktop run before merge.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Cursor usage now displays an active unified 7-day usage pool as the primary meter, labeled “Weekly.”
    • On-demand spend remains visible alongside the weekly pool.
  • Bug Fixes
    • When the weekly pool applies, duplicate Grok Bot and other overlapping usage meters are no longer shown.
    • Existing monthly usage displays remain for other pool types and states.

Factory Agent added 2 commits October 23, 2026 13:33
When a unified X Subscription pool has a 7-day window and a future reset, it replaces the monthly primary and the Auto and API lanes, and the Grok Bot extra is dropped. Its label is Weekly. Trial-only, expired, non-unified and non-weekly pools keep the monthly layout. On-demand cost is unchanged.
Synthetic cursor-weekly fixture (primary Weekly 10.2 percent, five-day reset, on-demand spend) with tray and flyout scenarios that check the label and that no Grok Bot row appears.

📝 Walkthrough

Cursor usage now selects an eligible unified seven-day pool as the primary meter and labels it “Weekly.” Provider snapshots and desktop proof scenarios cover the weekly usage display.

Changes: Cursor Weekly Usage

Layer / File(s) Summary
Detect and apply the weekly pool
rust/src/providers/cursor/api.rs, rust/src/providers/cursor/api/tests.rs
The API returns sand usage status for selection. When the status marks a unified seven-day pool with a future reset, that pool replaces the primary meter and the result uses the “Weekly” label. Tests cover fallback cases and HTTP fetching.
Propagate the meter label
rust/src/providers/cursor/mod.rs
CursorProvider::fetch_usage applies the optional primary label to the usage snapshot. A test checks the weekly window and confirms there are no secondary, model-specific, or duplicate Grok Bot windows.
Add weekly usage proof scenarios
apps/desktop-tauri/src/proof/fixtures/scenarios.ts, apps/desktop-tauri/scripts/proof-scenarios.json
The proof fixture adds a weekly Cursor snapshot and scenario. Tray and dark flyout scenarios check the weekly usage and absence of Grok Bot, Auto, and API, then capture the panel.

Full details: Provider Data Stays Siloed

Explanation

The change remains provider-siloed. The patch changes only Cursor provider code and Cursor proof fixtures. Cursor email, plan, and the new primary_label are attached to the Cursor usage snapshot built from the same Cursor request. The proof scenario enables only cursor and uses Cursor-specific identity data. No changed shared code matches on ProviderId, and no identity or plan data moves to another provider or account.

Full details: Secrets Handled Safely

Explanation

PASS. The PR changes usage mapping, proof fixtures, and tests. Cursor cookies are used only as HTTP request headers. The inspected log and error paths emit status codes, parse errors, and response lengths; they do not include cookie or token values. The proof email and auth=fixture values are synthetic fixtures. No credential files or keyring entries are changed.

Full details: No Unapproved Dependencies

Explanation

The pull request changes only proof scenarios and Cursor Rust source/tests. It does not change any Cargo.toml or package.json, add an npm or yarn lockfile, or change the pnpm packageManager pin. The base and head both use pnpm@11.25.0. The PR description also contains no maintainer approval statement, but no approval is needed because no dependency or package-manager change was introduced.

Full details: Ui Changes Include Windows Proof

Explanation

The pull request changes visible usage data. rust/src/providers/cursor/api.rs promotes the unified pool to the primary Weekly meter, and rust/src/providers/cursor/mod.rs passes that label to the UI. New proof scenarios cover the tray and flyout. The description reports Chromium proof with mocked IPC, but it explicitly says that real Windows CUA proof was not run. It includes no screenshots or proof note from a fresh Windows build.

Resolution

Run a fresh Windows build. Verify the real tray icon, tray menu, and flyout. Attach screenshots or add a proof note from that Windows run to the pull request description.

@coderabbitai Applied in f2f3445. Both tray-cursor-weekly and flyout-cursor-weekly now expect 10% used and $4.47, and assert that Grok Bot, Auto and API are absent. pnpm proof:check -- --only cursor-weekly: 2/2 PASS (Chromium, mocked IPC).

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Map saved cursor-grok-bot selections to the weekly pool.

When Cursor promotes the unified weekly pool, result.grok_bot is cleared. A saved MetricPreference::NamedExtra("cursor-grok-bot") still resolves to unknown_window() and named_extra_status returns Grok Bot –. The tray therefore shows a stale empty metric and an unknown icon instead of the weekly pool. Handle this saved preference as Weekly whenever the weekly layout is active. Suppressing the selector entry alone is insufficient because existing saved selections remain available.

### Seed usage data

A file the app can't read or parse logs a warning, and the app starts without the seed. A normal refresh doesn't replace seeded data while the cache holds every provider the refresh asks for. A forced refresh, such as **Refresh All**, fetches live data.

## 5. Mocked-IPC proof build

Every command the frontend invokes either has a fixture handler or is listed
in `INERT_ACTIONS` (`src/proof/router.ts`): user actions such as sign-ins,
credential writes, and OS side effects that return `null`.
`src/proof/coverage.test.ts` fails when a new `invoke("...")` has neither, so
the mocks cannot drift silently. An unknown command still returns `null` and
logs `[proof-mock] unhandled command: <name>` once. Window, webview, dialog,
and event plugin calls are inert.

@coderabbitai Fixed in 1589b42 (outside-diff finding on api.rs:44-51, saved cursor-grok-bot selections).

NamedExtraMetric now has a promoted_primary_label field. Cursor sets it to "Weekly". When a snapshot's primary label matches it, the new shell helper usage_metric::named_extra_reading returns the primary window instead of the absent extra window. The meter selection, the unknown-icon check and the tray status text all use this helper. A saved Grok Bot choice now reads the weekly pool ("Grok Bot 10% used"), as upstream CursorProviderDescriptor.menuBarExtras does. In the monthly layout nothing changes: a missing Grok Bot reading still shows as unknown.

New tests: saved_grok_bot_reads_the_promoted_weekly_pool and saved_grok_bot_shows_the_promoted_weekly_pool_in_the_tray. Tauri tests: 806 pass. Clippy is clean on both manifests.
