ALPR Database Community documentation

ALPR Database Community runs natively on Windows 10 22H2 x64 and Windows 11 x64, or with Docker Compose on supported x86-64 Linux hosts. The same application, database schema, authentication and recognition models are shared.

Start here

The searchable user guide and downloadable PDF are available under Help in ALPR. Use Settings → Release to identify your installed version and Settings → Software Updates for supported updates.

Wiki navigation

Detailed instructions are maintained in the versioned repository guides linked above. For an older installation, use the documentation at its release tag.

Get help safely

Use Discussions for setup questions and the bug report form for reproducible problems. Public reports must exclude passwords, API keys, real plates, camera images, private addresses and database contents. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately.

Adjustable columns and compact Actions

From Community v0.1.58, drag a header divider in Recognition Feed or Plate Database to resize its column. Widths save automatically and separately for each table in this browser. Double-click a divider to reset one column, or use Reset widths for the full layout. Keyboard users can focus a divider and use Left/Right arrows, with Shift for larger steps.

Narrow text uses an ellipsis and shows the full value on hover. Minimum widths keep controls usable; wider tables scroll horizontally. Actions starts as a compact ⋯ menu with full action names. Widen its column to restore the individual icons. See User Guide 3.26.

Plate review and State/Country

From Community v0.1.57, use Settings → General → Show State/Country column → Save Changes to enable the optional column in Recognition Feed and Plate Database. It is off by default. Operators and administrators can enter a value manually or select Previous entries. Reads of the same effective plate share the value; OCR does not populate it.

Administrator corrections start with batch correction and recurring misread aliases enabled. Review the scope and preview affected reads before applying a batch. See the current release guide and User Guide.
