Multiplayer crashes on startup on RimWorld 1.6.4871

No other mods, only multiplayer, prepatcher and core.
Sometimes the game does not produce a crash dump and instead remains indefinitely on a black screen.

The LongEventHandler.QueueLongEvent is not at fault here. Its just first to reveal the issue.
