FTW plugin terms

Updated 18 October 2026

These terms cover the FTW plugin for ChatGPT and its connection through FTW Cloud. Sourceful Labs AB (reg. no. 559382-0458), Kalmar, Sweden, provides the integration.

What the plugin provides

The plugin offers FTW setup guidance and, for an authorized home, tools to explain readings, plans and equipment health. It takes no payments and offers no purchases. A ChatGPT account, a suitable FTW host and any equipment or network services you use have their own requirements and terms.

Your home and your approval

Connect only a home you own or have permission to use. Review the rights and expiry before approving an assistant in FTW. You can end its access in FTW. Reading does not grant control. Short actions stay within the approved limits; requests for lasting goal changes wait for the owner's approval. The public connection cannot install software on your host or save setup changes.

Check readings and advice

FTW and this integration are in beta. Readings can be old or missing, plans can change and an assistant can make mistakes. Check the source, time and limits before acting. A plan, an accepted command or an estimate does not prove physical response or savings. Sourceful does not promise a particular saving or an uninterrupted beta service.

Keep the equipment's own protections in place. Use a qualified electrician for mains wiring, meters, fuses and other work that requires one. Setup guidance does not replace the manufacturer's instructions or a required professional check.

Data and access

The privacy notice explains what Sourceful handles, who receives it, how long it is held and how to exercise your rights. FTW Cloud can read assistant requests and box answers while passing them on. OpenAI processes the data it receives under its own privacy policy and the terms for your ChatGPT account. Ending FTW access prevents further authorized reads; it does not delete earlier conversations from ChatGPT.

Use only the rights needed for your task. Do not bypass another home's access checks, extract secrets or disable equipment protections.

Support and software licenses

Help follows the FTW support policy. The plugin includes no paid support plan, response-time promise or service-level agreement. FTW code and the Energyplan worker keep their separate software licenses; these terms do not replace or extend them. Your rights under applicable consumer law remain.

Changes and contact

We publish changes to these terms here with an updated date. Review a new request for access before accepting its rights. Contact support@sourceful.energy for questions, or use plugin support.

FTW for ChatGPT

Get help installing FTW, understand your home's energy flow and plans, and investigate problems with supported meters, solar, batteries and EV chargers.

Public directory release in preparation. Sourceful Labs AB develops this integration. It is not yet listed as an approved public plugin. Existing development connections remain separate.

No FTW box yet?

The Setup Guide helps you choose a host, follow the current install guide, connect supported equipment and check fresh readings. You do not need a connected home to ask for setup help. You run the install on your own host; ChatGPT cannot log in to your Pi or router for you.

Start with Install and update FTW. Check your model and tested functions in the device catalog. A catalog entry alone does not prove control on your equipment.

Understand a connected home

With your approval, ChatGPT can read current power, battery and car state, past power readings, the planner's proposals, equipment health, and redacted logs and settings. Old and missing readings remain distinct from fresh measurements. Plans and estimated savings do not prove what the equipment did or what you saved.

The public connection uses a fixed set of named tools. It does not offer arbitrary API access, backup exports or remote setup writes. When a question needs data it cannot read, it explains the gap and guides you through a local check.

Approve access in FTW

Run a current FTW beta, enable FTW Cloud on the box and read the Cloud information before accepting it.

Start the FTW connection in your ChatGPT development installation. The FTW authorization page shows a code and a link for the owner.

Approve the request in your FTW app or the box's own Access page. Choose the rights and how long access lasts. Keep passwords, keys and approval codes out of chat.

Ask which home ChatGPT can reach and what you granted. You can end access in FTW at any time.

Reading is separate from control. A short charging action needs your request and a matching grant. A request for a lasting goal change waits for the owner's approval. Core checks every command and keeps control on the box.

Your data

FTW Cloud can read this assistant connection while it passes requests and answers between ChatGPT and your box. OpenAI receives the data you authorize the connection to return. See Privacy: assistants and the plugin terms.

Get help

Email support@sourceful.energy.

Report a problem in FTW issues. Include the running Core version, the question, the error and its time. Remove home identifiers and secrets.

Read the support policy. Community help is best effort.

The plugin takes no payments and offers no purchases. It includes no paid support plan. Sourceful Labs AB (reg. no. 559382-0458), Kalmar, Sweden, publishes and maintains it.

Apple

Apple runs the App Store and TestFlight under its own privacy policy. If you share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple sends us crash reports and usage numbers that do not name you. If you test through TestFlight, Apple shares your name, email address, crash reports and any feedback you send with us.

Assistants

Assistants and the ChatGPT plugin

You can let an assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, read your home through FTW Cloud at cloud.ftw.energy/mcp, and act on it if you allow that too. Nothing reaches an assistant until you approve it, on your phone with Face ID or on your box's own page with the house password. It reads by default; control is a separate choice. Control lasts minutes at a time, within limits your box sets, and your box asks you before any lasting change. Access lasts as long as you choose, from a day up to a year, and you can renew it or end it at any time.

This connection is not end to end between you and your box. The assistant runs outside your home, so FTW Cloud opens the encrypted connection to your box for it. FTW Cloud makes a key for each assistant you approve and keeps it sealed by Amazon's key service (AWS KMS), which only that part of FTW Cloud may use. FTW Cloud reads the assistant's questions and your box's answers while it passes them on, holds them in memory only, and keeps none of them. When a request fails, it logs the tool's name, not what was read.

For each assistant, FTW Cloud keeps its name and web address as the assistant gives them, the public half of its key, which home it may reach, what it may do and until when, and hashes of its access tokens. Your box keeps a record of what each assistant read and did for 90 days.

Even with the readable copy off, FTW Cloud sends your phones a short notice through Apple's push service when an assistant gets access, asks for a change or is about to lose access. The notice names the assistant only if the readable copy is on.

What you let an assistant read goes to the company that runs it, such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Anysphere (Cursor), under that company's own privacy policy. Sourceful does not control what it does with it.

The FTW plugin sends OpenAI the answers to the tools you use, such as current power, battery and car state, past power readings, plans, device health, and redacted logs and settings. FTW Cloud receives the tool name and arguments needed for the request; the plugin does not ask for your full conversation history. OpenAI handles what it receives under its own privacy policy and your account settings. Its retention and deletion controls are separate from FTW's. Ending access in FTW does not delete an earlier ChatGPT conversation.

The public plugin uses named tools and does not offer arbitrary API reads or backup exports. Other, separately authorized technical assistant connections can read exact technical identifiers, network addresses and exports; some backups contain saved credentials. Grant and use only the access needed for your task.

Read FTW for ChatGPT, its terms and support information.

Access for Sourceful support, which you will be able to turn on for a support case, is not available yet. We will update this page before it is.
