this is looking pretty good! couple things before we can merge:

• the changes to static/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json need to be reverted. if upstream ships a change, we can incorporate that here, but not before.
• after #2734 got merged, there's a conflict on one file in this one now. (both modified the same line, differently.) resolve that conflict please

for future reference, #2733 #2734 #2735 and #2736 are all PRs that could've been written as one single PR. i know there can be a fine line between making too many changes and making related changes. in this case, though, the changes are related enough and mechanical enough, that it would've been fine as one PR
