Summary

  • Add regression tests for UInterval / uinterval 0 meaning re-render on every rotation cycle.
  • Cover app config save, add-app form, and possiblyRender (contrasts with a positive interval that skips until elapsed).

These pass on main and should fail on dev/PR #973 if <= 0 is mapped to 10 minutes again.

Test plan

  • go test ./internal/server/ -run 'ZeroRenderInterval|PreservesZeroRenderInterval' -count=1

Made with Cursor

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Added coverage confirming that a zero render interval is preserved when apps are added or updated.
    • Added checks for rendering behavior with zero and positive intervals, including whether a subsequent render updates the last-render time.

Guard config save, add-app, and possiblyRender so UInterval 0 is not coerced to 10 minutes.

Walkthrough

Adds server tests for zero render intervals. The tests check interval persistence after config updates and app additions, and compare repeat rendering for positive and zero intervals.

Changes: Render interval behavior

Layer / File(s) Summary
Zero interval persistence
internal/server/render_interval_test.go
Tests that config updates and app additions preserve a submitted uinterval of zero.
Render interval cycles
internal/server/render_interval_test.go
Tests that a positive interval leaves LastRender unchanged on an immediate second call, while zero advances it after a short delay.

The new tests cover zero intervals, though the positive-interval test could better establish its initial render. No merge-blocking issue is identified.

Exercise the elapsed positive-interval path.

With UInterval: 60 and LastRender only one minute old, both calls skip rendering. possiblyRender returns true for a skip, so the first assertion does not establish that an initial render occurred. Set LastRender more than 60 minutes in the past and assert that the first call advances it. Then check that the immediate second call does not advance it. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the test using possiblyRender so LastRender is more than 60 minutes old
with UInterval set to 60; assert the first call advances LastRender, then assert
an immediate second call leaves it unchanged.
