Summary

Release prep for 5.3.0. No source code changes.

• CHANGELOG: rebuilt the 5.3.0 section.
  • Restored 34 entries that were silently overwritten when bot PRs resolved CHANGELOG merge conflicts. Each PR inserted its line at the same spot, and the next one replaced it. Among them: timer pausing (feat: support pausing task timers #156), relative file links (feat: support relative file links #160), archive statistics (feat: add statistics to the archive #205), folding blank lines, file tree Open commands, and todo.file.view.icons.
  • Grouped the entries into compatibility notes, new features by area, and fixes by area. Merged near-duplicates (148 entries became 126 bullets). A script confirmed that no issue reference was dropped.
  • Added compatibility notes:
    • Statistics conditions no longer accept function calls or assignments.
    • todo.toggleTimer now pauses or resumes the task timer; the old status bar toggle moved to todo.toggleStatusBarTimer.
    • The minimum VS Code version is now 1.36.
    • The extension now activates lazily instead of at startup.
  • Linked issues Pause Task #1 and Is it possible to pause timer? (feature request?) #12 (pause timer requests) to the timer pausing feature.
• .vscodeignore: exclude AGENTS.md, CODE_REVIEW.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, .github/, .todo, and tooling configs from the .vsix.
• package.json: publish script is now just vsce publish. The previous script also ran npm publish, but the extension has never been on npm.
• README: documented todo.timekeeping.autoToggle, the only new setting that was missing.

Verification

• npm run check passes: type check, 439 tests, build, and the Prettier check.
• Checked both compatibility claims against the source: an unparseable condition evaluates to false and hides the statistics, and toggleTimer now calls the task-level timer method.
