Reject config names that are not valid PHP identifiers - #69

add() inserted the name into the generated source as is, so a name containing quotes, spaces or other characters produced a broken or unexpected definition. Such configs could also never be found, updated or removed afterwards, since parsing only recognises word characters. Validate the name up front and throw before anything is written. add()(andupdate(), which falls through toadd()for missing configs) inserted the config name into the generateddefine()/ variable assignment as is. A name containing quotes, spaces, dashes, newlines etc. resulted in a malformed or unexpected definition being written to the file.Such configs were also unmanageable afterwards:
parse_wp_config()only recognises word characters in names, so the library could never find, update or remove them again. This adds a check at the top of
add()that the name matches^[A-Za-z_][A-Za-z0-9_]*$, throwingConfig name must be a valid PHP identifier.before anything is written. Callers likewp config setalready surface exceptions as a regular error.Notes:
Dmodifier keeps a trailing newline from passing the check.Testing
update()with a range of invalid names, plus a check that the file is left unchanged.Generated by Claude Code
