Adds Dependencys for console IO. Also fixes#268 by explicitly handling non-pipe input.
How was it tested?
Ran on macOS + Linux in Docker. I have a future PR that overrides the dependencies in certain cases, which also appears to work correctly.
AI tool usage
How much of this PR was AI-assisted? (check one)
0 - No AI was used to write code
1 - I was assisted by AI. I reviewed the finished result.
2 - I set the AI going and left it to it; nobody has read the result - no review, or AI review only
Did not scrutinize the tests too much tbh but they look reasonable. Easy enough to update/remove them in the future if needed.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added support for reading command-line input, including asynchronous prompts, line-based responses, and graceful handling of end-of-input.
Added coordinated cleanup when commands finish.
Improvements
Command messages across authentication, device management, installation, SDK, and other workflows now use consistent output handling; displayed messages and command behavior remain unchanged.
Improved handling of complete output when the system temporarily cannot accept more data.
Tests
Added coverage for command input and output, including stream behavior, cancellation, and shutdown.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
The change adds dependency-injected command input and output, routes existing messages through the output dependency, and adds a shutdown registry that command processing awaits when its scope exits.

Summary
Output dependency and write support .swiftlint.yml, Package.swift, Sources/XUtils/CommandOutput.swift, Sources/XUtils/Dependencies+Utils.swift, Sources/XUtils/System+Utils.swift, Tests/XToolTests/CommandOutputTests.swift
Adds CommandOutput with stdout and stderr streams, serialized writes, flush support, and dependency access. Adds writeAllWaiting, package wiring, a lint rule for direct print calls, and tests for output formatting and complete writes.
Standard input and console prompts Sources/XCLIUtils/CommandInput.swift, Sources/XCLIUtils/Console.swift, Package.swift, Tests/XToolTests/CommandInputTests.swift
Adds injectable asynchronous input, buffered and queued reads, and standard-input handling for files, character devices, and other descriptors. Console.prompt reads through the input dependency. Tests cover EOF, cancellation, closure, and terminal flags.
Routes XKit and command messages, warnings, errors, and installer progress through the injected output dependency. Existing command flows and displayed messages are otherwise unchanged.
Adds a shutdown registry that runs queued operations once in reverse registration order and shares shutdown completion among concurrent callers. cancellableMain awaits shutdown when command processing exits.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #268 requires xtool dev build >/dev/null to avoid the fatal NIO registration error. CommandOutput.liveValue writes directly to the selected file descriptor and does not register stdout with NIO. StandardCommandInput uses FileHandle for regular files and non-terminal character devices, including /dev/null. The tests cover /dev/null EOF, redirected files, pipes, and injected output behavior.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes stay within the console I/O dependency scope. CommandInput, CommandOutput, Console, shutdown cleanup, dependency wiring, output call-site migrations, lint enforcement, and related tests support injectable console I/O and descriptor-safe behavior. No unrelated change is demonstrated.

Scope a fresh ShutdownRegistry for each invocation.
swift-dependencies caches the live registry. After the first invocation shuts it down, a later StandardCommandInput.read() can register cleanup on the same registry and immediately execute close(). Create the registry in a dependency scope around each XTool.run call.

If a nonblocking stdout pipe fills and its reader stops draining it, poll(..., -1) waits indefinitely. Sources/XToolSupport/XTool.swift handles SIGINT by cancelling the command task, but this synchronous wait does not check cancellation. The command can therefore remain stuck after Ctrl-C. Use a finite poll interval and check task cancellation before waiting again.

Make writes to blocking pipes cancellable.
If stdout is a blocking pipe and its reader stops draining it, write can block before the loop reaches Task.checkCancellation(). Cancelling the command then cannot release the writer or the output lock until the reader resumes or closes. The 100 ms poll interval only protects the nonblocking-pipe path. Use a write strategy that can check cancellation while waiting for capacity, and cover a full blocking pipe in the tests. (github.com)
