Description

  • Raise the minimum supported Node.js version from 20 to 24. Node.js 20 is end-of-life and gets no fix for CVE-2026-111497 (Brotli decoder out-of-bounds write).
  • engines.node is now >=24, and the bundle targets node24.
  • lfc doctor now reports an error below Node.js 24.
  • The README states the new requirement. CI, release, and mise.toml already use Node.js 24.

Verifying Changes

  • pnpm format:check, pnpm lint, pnpm typecheck, pnpm test, and pnpm build passed on Node.js 24.
  • node dist/index.js --help runs from the built bundle.

Notes

  • This is a breaking change for users on Node.js 20 or 22. Release it as a minor version bump, with a note in the release notes.
  • engines is advisory. Use Node.js 24.22.1 or later to get the CVE fix.

BREAKING CHANGE: lfc no longer supports Node.js 20 or 22.
