Submerged banks were treated as scenic coastline, attracting unnecessary open-water bends. Coastal preference now follows actual land while retaining the 200 m shallow-water exclusion, 320 m preferred shoreline standoff, 2 m minimum depth, and checked swept corridors. Safe shortcuts inside the coastal band remove grid staircases with a 7.5 km segment cap.
Validation: all 100 routing tests passed, including clear-coast shortcut, submerged-bank, shallow-water and unknown-terrain cases.
