This change adds target-specific SM_103 paths for NVFP4 sparse attention, GEMV, hyper-connections, MoE, GDN, speculative verification, and rollback. It also changes shared QSA mapping, Mamba replay, speculative decoding, grouped GEMM, and executor behavior.
The broad shared-code scope creates regression risk. Verify dispatch conditions and fallbacks, tensor layouts and dtypes, CUDA graph replay, synchronization, and state updates. Reviewers should also check numerical behavior and speculative-state correctness in the new kernels. Current review-finding counts are unavailable.
QA Engineer Review
The change adds and modifies tests for target attention, GEMM, HC, MoE, normalization, PLE, SSM, and shared QSA, Mamba, and speculative-decoding behavior. The only confirmed test-list additions are test_fused_strict_accept.py, test_draft_loop_ops.py, and test_greedy_argmax.py in tests/integration/test_lists/test-db/l0_b200.yml. The supplied evidence does not confirm that the target-specific tests are listed in CI or manual-QA lists. No test removals or waivers are identified.
The PR objectives report GB300 test results and pre-commit passing. Those results are author-reported and are not independently established for the current revision. Coverage verdict: needs follow-up, to confirm target-test CI selection and current-revision results.

Description
GB300 performance work on the qwen3_8_flash_next_nvfp4__sm_103__tp1 modeling_v2 target (Qwen3.8-Flash-Next NVFP4, added in #20143 / #20276). It covers the whole Pareto curve at ISL 8192 / OSL 1024 on one GB300 (TP1), with NVFP4 KV cache and bf16 SSM state, for STP and MTP3. Most changes are target-local ops and kernels (CuTe DSL, Triton, CUDA). A few changes touch shared code; they are listed below.

How these were measured:
The table is the full sweep on the pre-rebase branch.
The MTP3 rows use a forced acceptance of 3.3 tokens/step. Accuracy and real acceptance are measured separately (see Test Coverage).
Opt-in configuration used:
STP and MTP3: TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_DENSE_FP8=1, TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_GDN_INPROJ_NVFP4=1, the breakable prefill graph with prefill capture buckets up to 16K tokens.
STP adds TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MOE_GEMV=1.
MTP3 adds TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_MOE_NVFP4=1 and TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_HEAD_NVFP4=1.
These numbers, including the rebased column below, were measured with three runtime changes that are no longer in this PR: the steady-state verify prepare fast path, TLLM_WORKER_USE_MP_PROCESS=1, and a single cache refresh after the speculative KV-length correction. See Moved out of this PR for what each was measured to contribute.

What changes
Decode at small batch
Hyper-connection site kernels:
Faster 1-row sites, with no weight-load hold by default.
2..16-row sites on a tensor-core launch pair, with the MoE finalize folded in.
tc_first extended up to 256 rows.
FP8 W8A16 GEMVs (fp8_gemv):
Used for dense projections under dense FP8, the vocab head, and the 1-row output and shared-expert projections.
Row ranges retuned.
GDN:
The in_proj GEMV with a fused conv1d epilogue, for 2..16 verify rows and up to 8 decode rows.
Decode rows with TMA state staging, and a copy-free cached replay.
Opt-in NVFP4 in_proj for up to 8 rows.
NVFP4 sparse GQA decode:
A CuTe split-K + merge kernel, with a lean one-split variant.
A fused decode prologue over NVFP4 KV that also covers verify steps.
Opt-in per-tensor FP8 dense projections, with the activation amax folded into its producers.
tcgen05 dense projections for 17..256 rows (mid_rows_mm).
HC and GDN:
HC sites without a stored normed stream.
A leaner GDN prefill block.
Sparse attention row-tile pass: a persistent pass, a CuTe plan kernel, and no per-step Triton recompiles.
PLE table: kept in host memory on the GPU's NUMA node.
Shared code outside the target directory
tensorrt_llm/_torch/speculative/:
fused_accept.py, draft_loop_ops.py and greedy_argmax.py (Triton) are new.
eagle3.py uses them in captured, generation-only MTP steps; other steps keep the composed ops.
interface.py caches the sampling-parameter normalization and stages the RNG uploads in one pinned tensor.
attention/backends/sparse/qsa/: the decode row mapping is one Triton launch when the batch has no context rows.
modules/mamba/mamba2_metadata.py: single-launch replay work items for up to 256 decodes.
modules/fla/cache_manager.py, modules/qwen4_exp/cache_manager.py:GDNReplayState gains an all-layer-commit switch, and Qwen4ExpHybridCacheManager.disable_gdn_cached_replay_all_layer_commit() turns it off for a model whose replay kernel commits wrapping checkpoints itself, as the target's CuTe replay over a bf16 state does. Nothing changes for other models.
Five commits; the first four touch shared code only, each with its tests.
[perf] CuteDSL MoE: opt-in K tile, row-owned epilogue and L2 hints in the finalize-fused grouped GEMM (defaults unchanged for existing callers)
[perf] Fewer eager ops in generation-only MTP decode metadata
[perf] Fused speculative-decoding bookkeeping in captured MTP decode steps
[feat] GDN cached replay: let the model's replay kernel own the checkpoint commit
[perf] Qwen3.8-Flash-Next NVFP4 target: GB300 Pareto optimizations for ISL 8K / OSL 1K (the target-local ops, their tests, and the target wiring)
Moved out of this PR
After review, the changes to tensorrt_llm/executor/, pyexecutor/engine/runners/decoder/inputs.py and pyexecutor/kv_cache/mamba_cache_manager/common.py were taken out. These files are identical to main in this PR.
Steady-state verify prepare fast path (decoder/inputs.py):
It applies to every decoder model with one-model MTP or Eagle3, so it moves to its own PR (branch Wanli-Jiang:user/williamj/steady-spec-verify-prepare-v2).
It was measured only together with the changes now in commit 2 (plus two upload memos that main has since added): together they took _prepare_inputs from a 2,285 µs to an 896 µs median and gave +3.8% tok/s/user at MTP3 con1. The fast path's own share was not measured separately.
It runs a TP1 worker in a spawned process without MPI. It only matters in containers that forbid MPI_Comm_spawn, where the alternative is TLLM_WORKER_USE_SINGLE_PROCESS=1.
Against that alternative it measured +1.2% (con32) and +7.0% (con256) for STP.
Single cache refresh after the overlap scheduler's KV-length correction (decoder/inputs.py): dropped.
on_update_kv_lens() runs before and after the correction, as on main.
On this target that is one extra QSA row-mapping launch, about 4 µs, per captured MTP step.
V2 Mamba / GDN replay bookkeeping folded into the conv-state promotion (kv_cache/mamba_cache_manager/common.py, called from the GDN and Mamba2 replay states): dropped.
ReplayStateUpdateMetadata and _advance_replay_state exist as two identical copies, in modules/fla and modules/mamba, which common.py cannot import. So the helper could only fold the step when possible and leave the fallback to each caller.
Merging those copies is a refactor of its own.
Without the fold, each captured MTP step keeps 14 more graph nodes, about 21 µs.
Main's DeviceCopyBuffer already skips unchanged uploads of the mamba state indices and the dummy mask, and its slot-table buffer replaces our sampler slot cache. Our duplicates of both were dropped.
Main's Mamba cache-manager split ([TRTLLM-16303][refactor] modularize Mamba cache managers #18843) moved the all-layer replay commit into GDNReplayState, and Qwen4ExpHybridCacheManager, the manager this target runs on, had no way to switch it off. Over a bf16 state the target's CuTe replay kernel commits wrapping checkpoints in-kernel, so the manager committed them a second time on steps of 16 or more decode requests, and below 16 the metadata skipped the work items the kernel reads. After the first rebase this showed as gsm8k 73.5 for MTP3 + CuteDSL + fp8 KV + bf16 state (main: 95.94) and a slot-dependent divergence in the MTP7 pass keys. Commit 4 adds the switch to GDNReplayState and the hook to Qwen4ExpHybridCacheManager; the target calls the hook when it binds a bf16 pool and asserts that it took effect.
Test Coverage
On one GB300 with a native build of this main, at this head (186267fb5e) unless noted. The previous head 9d4a426ec4 differs from it only in the cleanup of commit 4 and of the target's replay binding.

The mamba2-metadata, QSA and speculative tests ran on 9d4a426ec4. The three new speculative tests are added to l0_b200.yml.
Target:
test_modeling_v2_qwen4_exp_pool_contract.py (CPU): 22 passed. It includes the check that binding a bf16 pool switches the manager's all-layer commit off.
The target's ssm/ op tests: 170 passed, 4 skipped. test_modeling_v2_spec_rollback.py: 23 passed. Both ran on 9d4a426ec4.
The full target op suite (739 passed, 4 skipped) and the rest of tests/unittest/_torch/modeling_v2, including the claims and native-claims gates (1508 passed), were last run on 5bca781f96. No changes since then touch them.
Our container forbids MPI_Comm_spawn. The gsm8k cases therefore ran with the TP1 worker in a spawned process, through a local patch that is not part of this PR. The pass-key cases run the executor in-process, as the tests set up.
Across these reruns, MTP1 gsm8k ranged 95.75–96.13, MMMU 57.44–59.22 and MTP7 pass-key acceptance 6.83–7.01.
test_breakable_prefill_matches_eager was not rerun on this revision.
Real MTP3 acceptance during development (gsm8k / pass-key): checked for every draft-side change: before 3.547 / 3.57, after 3.545–3.558 / 3.33–3.38.
pre-commit: passes on every changed file.
PR Checklist
PR description clearly explains what and why.
PR follows the TRT-LLM coding guidelines to the best of my knowledge.
Test cases are provided for new code paths.
No API changes. The new opt-in switches are environment variables read by the target.
13 points — Performance refactor of existing QSA/Gated DeltaNet execution. Quantized sparse attention, tensor-core recurrent replay and speculative rollback together warrant broad kernel-level reasoning and provisionally support 13 attention-review points, independently of unrelated GEMM/HC volume.
Importance
Important — Visible module descriptions specify new NVFP4 split-K attention and request-grouped verification kernels, plus GDN replay with bf16 rounding and checkpoint commits. These introduce sensitive numerical, synchronization and speculative-state correctness contracts.

Summary
NVFP4 attention and scoring .../ops/attention/*, .../tests/.../attention/*
Adds NVFP4 paged sparse-GQA decode and grouped verify, page conversion, index scoring, verify setup, rollback operations, and NVFP4 storage in the decode prologue.
The change still carries test reliability and cross-architecture CI risk, and the decoder formatter check is not confirmed against the pinned toolchain. Resolve these before merging.

Add an executor-session unit test for abort() that starts work on a worker,
calls abort(), and verifies the worker stops and its future settles within a

escalation so the test catches workers that remain running after abort.
The supplied change does not identify a test for shutdown(wait=False). Add an executor-session unit test with a blocked task. Assert that shutdown returns before the task completes and that the task can subsequently finish. This catches an accidental return to waiting shutdown. Capture and replay the folded V2 path.
The new test only toggles is_cuda_graph and runs one update on a fresh manager for each case. It does not capture a CUDA graph or replay it with changed accepted counts. Add a CUDA-gated capture-and-replay case in tests/unittest/_torch/executor/kv_cache/test_mamba_cache_manager.py. Check convolution state, prev_num_accepted_tokens, and cache_buf_idx after each replay. This can catch capture-only failures and stale replay bookkeeping.

Add a regression test for the steady-state speculative verify fast path.
This change adds _record_steady_spec_cache, _can_use_steady_spec_fast_prepare and _apply_steady_spec_fast_prepare. The fast path rebuilds the inputs and metadata of a full pass from cached state. None of the listed tests exercises this path. A missed field can silently diverge from the full pass, for example:

num_extra_kv_tokens
use_full_generation_page_table
spec_metadata.request_ids
the one-hot placeholder rows
The result would be wrong positions or KV lengths in graph replay.
Suggested minimal test, under tests/unittest/_torch/executor/:
Use a DecoderInputPreparer with a linear-tree one-model spec config and the overlap scheduler enabled.
Run two consecutive verify-only steps with the same requests and slots. The first step records the cache; the second step takes the fast path.
Run the second step again with _steady_spec_cache = None to force the full pass.
Compare input_ids_cuda, position_ids_cuda, draft_tokens_cuda, previous_pos_id_offsets_cuda, previous_kv_lens_offsets_cuda, kv_cache_params and spec_metadata.seq_lens between the two runs.
Add a negative case: a changed slot, a changed verify width, or a request with py_needs_onehot_draft_probs must fall back to the full pass.
As per path instructions: "For each new or materially changed observable behavior, determine whether this PR adds, updates, or clearly identifies an existing test that meaningfully exercises the change."

Gate the module on SM 10.3, not only on CUDA availability.
The module-level check at line 26 only tests for CUDA. The grouped path requires SM 10.3, and tests that assert or call that path can fail on other CUDA devices instead of skipping. _plan checks torch.cuda.get_device_capability(q.device) != (10, 3) before it returns a grouped plan. test_certified_cells asserts _takes_grouped(args), and test_other_rows_a_request_and_forced_splits calls nvfp4_sparse_gqa_verify_grouped directly. Neither path has an architecture gate.
Add a module-level skip after the existing CUDA assertion:

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
The small restore cell does not force a mixed rejected and kept set.
The cell description says "two rejected". The test draws rejected with torch.rand(...) < 0.5. With 4 rows, the count can be 0, 1, 3 or 4. A cell with zero rejected rows never exercises the restore. A cell with all rows rejected never checks the "not rejected rows are untouched" invariant. The seeded draw is deterministic today, but it can change if the generator call order changes. The cell name then no longer matches the test.
Build rejected deterministically from the cell. For example, reject exactly half the rows. For rows=512, a random mask is fine.

[P1] This breaks the GLM-5.2 modeling_v2 target's MTP path.
eagle3.py:648 now always passes fused= to _prepare_next_new_tokens. But MTPDraftWorker in glm_moe_dsa/glm_5_2_nvfp4__sm_107__tp16/modeling.py:1587 overrides that method with the old 5-argument signature. That target is already on main via #20517, and it inherits _forward_impl through MTPEagleWorker.
As a result, GLM-5.2 NVFP4 on SM107 TP16 with MTP-Eagle raises TypeError: _prepare_next_new_tokens() got an unexpected keyword argument 'fused' on the first step, during warmup. By then auto has already selected the target, so there is no fallback. Pre-merge CI doesn't run this configuration.
Fix: make the override accept fused: bool = False and forward it to super()._prepare_next_new_tokens(..., fused=fused). No other override of this method exists in the repo.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
_nvfp4_context_plan sizes the bf16 K/V scratch from every context request’s full KV history, not from this step’s rows. One 512-row chunk on top of 128K tokens of history lists 4096 pages, about 256 MB allocated outside the KV pool.
Should we cap the scratch, or fall back to the split-K path above a page budget?
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
The steady verify fast path is on by default for every one-model linear MTP/Eagle3 run with overlap and CUDA graphs, and it rebuilds the attention metadata from a cached subset of the full pass. No test compares the two paths.
Could we add a unit test that runs one verify-only batch through both paths and checks that the position ids, KV lengths and gather ids match?
Run Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in perf sanity on modeling_v2 by default: one GB300
GPU, `modeling_v2: require` (the qwen3_8_flash_next_nvfp4__sm_103__tp1
target), TP1, MTP3, TRTLLM MoE, bf16 recurrent state, breakable prefill
CUDA graphs, 8k/1k at concurrency 1 and 256. It joins the GB300 4-GPU
post-merge list (GB300 stages allocate whole 4-GPU trays).
The KV cache stays `auto` (bf16) for now: NVFP4 KV works on main but its
prefill is not fast yet (NVIDIA#20276), about 6.6 s per 8k prompt, so the
concurrency-256 client would not finish in a stage. Switch to `nvfp4` once
the NVFP4 KV fast path (NVIDIA#20937) is on main.
TIMEOUT 35 from the validation run (1,011 s of pytest), and .test_durations
is seeded with it.

…nd L2 hints in the finalize-fused grouped GEMM
The finalize-fused contiguous grouped GEMM gains three opt-in knobs; the
defaults keep every existing caller's kernel unchanged:
- mma_inst_tile_k: the MMA instruction K tile count (4 before). 2 gives a
K tile of 128, which leaves room for five A/B stages beside the C staging
buffer instead of two, so a GEMM with a small K (an FC2 of K = 640)
pipelines.
- row_owned_epilogue: each epilogue thread waits on its own row's previous
bulk reduce instead of a per-tile bulk wait plus a CTA barrier.
- l2_hints: the A/B operands are loaded EVICT_FIRST and the bf16 scatter-add
stores EVICT_LAST.
The Qwen3.8-Flash-Next target's prefill MoE FC2 uses them: GB300, per layer
622 -> 555 us at 16384 rows and 427 -> 373 us at 8192.

…tadata
Metadata work of a generation-only MTP decode step:
- QSA sparse metadata: the decode row mapping of a batch without context
rows (up to 256 requests) is one Triton launch instead of ~12 ATen ops,
eager and in the CUDA graph.
- GDN replay work items take the single-launch Triton builder for every
decode count up to 256 whose bookkeeping is contiguous (one compile for
all batch sizes), with or without the all-layer commit.
- The spec metadata stages its RNG uploads in one pinned tensor and caches
the sampling-parameter normalization.
The replay-mode metadata test hands the dispatch real bookkeeping tensors
and mocks both work-item builders.
Exact: the QSA generation mapping matches the general cumulative-sum and
search mapping bitwise in unit tests, and every replaced component was
compared in a batched acceptance-length eval.

…ed MTP decode steps
In graph-captured generation-only MTP decode steps (eager and mixed steps
keep the original ops):
- the greedy argmax of 1-16 rows is the Triton row argmax (greedy_argmax,
64 chunks a row, bf16 or fp32 logits) instead of a memset, a 31-block
reduce and a cast per call;
- strict and forced acceptance run as one Triton launch (fused_accept);
every force mode is launched once at warmup;
- the first draft step's row selection (gather ids, hidden rows, positions,
KV and sequence lengths) is one launch (draft_loop_ops.draft_row_select),
dropping two cats and a dead cumsum, and the next step's tokens take two
launches instead of six (draft_loop_ops.next_new_tokens).
GLM-5.2's MTP draft worker override passes the fused flag through.
Bitwise against the replaced ops (unit tests incl. CUDA graph replay, run on
B200; in-graph shadow checks over ~185K serving comparisons). MTP3 con1 on
GB300, Qwen3.8-Flash-Next (with its target's fused rollback and step setup):
captured bookkeeping 121 nodes / 267 us -> about 42 nodes / 79 us. That is
the measured 27 nodes / 53.6 us plus two changes this commit leaves out: a
duplicate QSA row mapping (1 node, 4.3 us) and the V2 Mamba replay
bookkeeping folded into the conv promotion (14 nodes, 20.9 us). con32

… own the checkpoint commit
A model whose cached-replay kernel commits each wrapping checkpoint itself
needs the manager's all-layer commit off: kept on, the manager commits those
checkpoints a second time after every step of 16 or more decode requests.
GDNReplayState gains all_layer_commit_enabled (on by default), and the
Qwen4Exp hybrid cache manager gains
disable_gdn_cached_replay_all_layer_commit(). Its
use_gdn_cached_replay_all_layer_commit holds only while the commit is
enabled, so the Mamba2 metadata then builds the replay work items for every
decode row instead of only for partitioned steps. Nothing changes for a
model that does not call it.

Dev Engineer Review

GB300 performance work on the
qwen3_8_flash_next_nvfp4__sm_103__tp1modeling_v2 target (Qwen3.8-Flash-Next NVFP4, added in #20143 / #20276). Results
Measured on 1× GB300 at ISL 8K / OSL 1K. Columns are concurrency. con1 is tok/s/user; the other columns are tok/s/GPU.
How these were measured:
TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_DENSE_FP8=1,TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_GDN_INPROJ_NVFP4=1, the breakable prefill graph with prefill capture buckets up to 16K tokens.TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MOE_GEMV=1.TRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_MOE_NVFP4=1andTRTLLM_MODELING_V2_MTP_HEAD_NVFP4=1.TLLM_WORKER_USE_MP_PROCESS=1, and a single cache refresh after the speculative KV-length correction. See Moved out of this PR for what each was measured to contribute.Key points versus the starting point (NVFP4 KV + bf16 state, before this work), and after rebasing onto this main:

Five commits; the first four touch shared code only, each with its tests.

b7b797a3aa(2026-10-28). The onboarding commits are already on main as [TRTLLM-17033][feat] Qwen3.8-Flash-Next modeling_v2: CUTEDSL, MTP 1..7, video, FP8/NVFP4 KV, bf16 state, canonical QSA selection, breakable prefill graph, GB300 fast paths #20276; this branch carries only the optimization work, restructured into the five commits above with the fix, review and formatting commits folded in.DeviceCopyBufferalready skips unchanged uploads of the mamba state indices and the dummy mask, and its slot-table buffer replaces our sampler slot cache. Our duplicates of both were dropped.GDNReplayState, andQwen4ExpHybridCacheManager, the manager this target runs on, had no way to switch it off. Commit 4 adds the switch toGDNReplayStateand the hook toQwen4ExpHybridCacheManager; the target calls the hook when it binds a bf16 pool and asserts that it took effect.Test Coverage
