Depends on #1125 (pinned Hugging Face model revisions).
Summary
Add support for running DSE on existing srt-slurm recipes via CloudAI. The primary motivation is to provide DSE on top of existing configurations, not to provide users an ergonomic way to write CloudAI configs that map to the underlying srt-slurm configuration. As a result, this integration is best seen as a "passthrough" where CloudAI simply manipulates srt-slurm recipe YAML to enable DSE, but the rest of the work is handled by srt-slurm directly (e.g. CloudAI doesn't handle scheduling)
Important Notes
CloudAI system/scenario allocation settings are not translated into benchmark scheduling directives; configure those in the srt-slurm cluster config and recipe.
We had to do some gymnastics to prevent login-node Python environments from leaking into compute jobs: removed virtualenv-backed PATH entries, unsetting VIRTUAL_ENV, and submitting from the installed srt-slurm checkout so uv cannot discover the caller's .venv.
The environment cleanup is required for host-side Dynamo prefetch on mixed-architecture clusters: otherwise compute-node uv can discover and attempt to execute the login-node interpreter.
Virtualenv-backed PATH entries are intentionally removed from the submitted environment. Compute-node tools required by recipes or hooks should be supplied outside a login-node Python virtualenv.
The longer-term ideal is for srt-slurm to select an explicit compute-native Python for every host-side uv operation. The wrapper cleanup provides compatibility with current pinned revisions.

Pre-commit checks passed for the changed files and the new example.
Example CloudAI schemas, TOML/YAML, Bash syntax, repository pins, mount/path consistency, and copyright headers validated. Public example files use placeholder paths and partition names.
The scenario installs pinned SRT Slurm and InferenceX repositories, including InferenceX's AIPerf submodule. Replace the placeholder partition and shared paths, provide the model/container, then run:

NVIDIA/cloudai#1120: Replaces the RST documentation system and requires the SRT workload documentation to be carried into Fern pages.
NVIDIA/cloudai#1111: Changes Slurm completion polling used by jobs submitted through the SRT Slurm CLI flow.
NVIDIA/cloudai#1117: Changes PythonExecutable installation behavior used by SRTSlurmExecutable.
Suggested labels:enhancement
Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 2021b
The standard SRT Slurm example may fail model resolution as written. The AgentX example may be unable to read model weights from a standard Hugging Face cache. A copyright-header test may also fail for two files. Fix the model references and mounts before merging; the example fixes are quick.

When the documented system configuration uses install_path = "./install_dir", CloudAI executes /absolute/path/install_dir/srt-slurm__v2.2.1. Pinned srt-slurm v2.2.1 instead passes /shared/cloudai/install/srt-slurm__v2.2.1 to validate_setup, so setup validation can inspect a different or nonexistent checkout.
Remove the override so srt-slurm derives the root from the installed checkout:

could you please elaborate on the Test Plan - I see it doesn't cover any real srt-slurm runs performed: what recipes, what configs, DSE support (observations/metrics extraction works well)
