Summary

Recompiles monitors/requirements.txt to clear the Snyk vulnerabilities in the monitors' Python dependencies, and cleans up monitors/requirements.in so the lockfile can be regenerated.

Changes

  • Lockfile: bumps aiohttp, certifi, multidict, requests and urllib3. 15 vulnerabilities cleared (1 Critical, 7 High, 7 Medium). The lockfile also gains typing-extensions, which was missing and stopped it installing under --require-hashes.
  • requirements.in: removes duplicate and conflicting pins (pandas, numpy and geoip2 each appeared twice) and aligns it with the lockfile.
  • CHANGELOG: entry under Unreleased.

Verification

  • snyk test on the old lockfile: 16 issues across 23 dependencies. On the new one: 0 vulnerabilities. Only the certifi MPL-2.0 license notice remains.
  • Lockfile installs with --require-hashes on Python 3.12. requests, pandas, numpy, geoip2, tabulate and aiohttp import, and the three monitor scripts compile.
  • Not tested: the monitors running against a live Scalyr agent.

Notes

  • Python 3.12 or later is required. numpy 2.5.4 (already on main via Dependabot) needs it, and the previous lockfile did not install on 3.11.
  • Snyk's monitored project for this file reports 6 dependencies and 2 issues, but the full tree is 23 dependencies. The SCM integration appears to read only the direct pins, so the dashboard understates what the file pulls in.
  • Several packages moved further than the minimum fixed versions because the lockfile was resolved fresh.
