Summary

Documents the local flag store that Flagship bindings now use during wrangler dev.

The Flagship configuration page currently states the opposite of the new behaviour:

Local Workers use the live Flagship app configured by app_id. There is no local flag store.

Bindings now resolve against a local, persisted store by default (Wrangler v4.135.0 and later), so wrangler dev works offline and local changes no longer touch production flags. Flags fall back to the default passed at the call site until the store is populated, so the pull step needs to be discoverable.

Changes:

  • Flagship configuration: replaced the "Local development" section with the local store workflow: wrangler flagship flags pull, --local flag commands, remote: true, and Local Explorer.
  • Flagship get started: added a short "Test locally" step before deploy.
  • Flagship Wrangler commands: added a "Local flag store" section, and scoped the authentication note to commands that target the remote app.
  • Wrangler flagship command page: added a --local note, matching the existing Workflows pattern.
  • Wrangler configuration: added the flagship binding (binding, app_id, remote) to the bindings reference and the non-inheritable keys list.
  • Local development: added Flagship to the "Adding local data" page and the bindings-per-environment tables. The Local Explorer supported bindings table already lists Flagship (docs(workers): List all Local Explorer bindings and triggers #34001), so it is unchanged here.
  • Changelog: new entry for the local flag store, dated 2026-10-13.

Implementation PRs

All three are merged in cloudflare/workers-sdk:

  1. #15268: [miniflare] Simulate Flagship bindings locally. Local flag store, evaluation, and the admin API.
  2. #15329: [wrangler] Add local Flagship development commands. Local-by-default bindings, remote: true, flags pull, and --local on flag commands (Wrangler v4.135.0).
  3. #15330: [miniflare] Manage Flagship flags in Local Explorer. Create, edit, toggle, delete, and evaluate flags in Local Explorer. Merged on 2026-10-05.

👉 Fix in your agent 👈
Fix the following review findings in PR #32879 (https://github.com/cloudflare/cloudflare-docs/pull/32879).

Before making changes, review each finding and present a brief summary table:
- For each finding, state whether you agree, disagree, or need clarification.
- If you disagree, explain why.
- If you need clarification before deciding, ask those questions.
- Then share your plan for which issues to tackle and in what order.

After triaging, follow this order:
1. Post a comment on this PR for any findings you are skipping, with the finding ID and your reasoning.
2. Then commit the fixes for the legitimate findings.

The comment must come before the commit because the next review reads PR comments.

A Wrangler release that supports using Flagship in Miniflare, including Local Explorer, will be published this week!

date: 2026-10-13
---

**[Wrangler](/workers/wrangler/)** now evaluates [Flagship](/flagship/) bindings against a local flag store during [`wrangler dev`](/workers/wrangler/commands/general/#dev). The store starts empty, so flags fall back to the default you pass at the call site until you populate it.

.

Copy flags from the remote app into that store:

```sh
wrangler flagship flags pull <APP_ID>
We can’t automatically pull for people?
Stamping but can we make sure we are providing guidance on how to do this with cf cli?
Not yet, working on supporting cf cli as well. I'll merge once its released. Hopefully in another week or two. :D
Flagship bindings now evaluate against a local flag store during
wrangler dev instead of the remote app. The configuration page said the
opposite, so replace that section with the local store workflow: pull,
--local flag commands, and remote: true.
Also add the Flagship binding to the Wrangler configuration reference,
list it in the local development binding tables, and add a changelog
entry.
