Fix OMPL config structure, FK units, firmware query buffer and CAN renaming - #11
Conversation
Reviewer's GuideThis PR applies four focused fixes: it corrects MoveIt’s OMPL YAML schema, makes FK units and constants consistent with the manufacturer and adds regression tests, resets and validates streamed firmware replies, and reorders CAN interface shutdown, temporary renaming, final naming, configuration, and startup to satisfy kernel constraints. What changed in this PR
Corrects MoveIt planner configuration, clarifies forward-kinematics units, and improves firmware queries and CAN activation.
Changes:
- Moves OMPL planner definitions to the expected configuration level.
- Documents FK output units, improves conversion precision, and adds tests.
- Resets and bounds firmware replies and stages CAN interface renaming.

**Old firmware replies appear current**
When a previous reply is still in flight or callers issue overlapping firmware queries, `sendFirmwareQuery()` clears the buffer, but `parseCANFrame()` appends firmware frames without identifying their query. `getFirmwareVersion()` can therefore return the previous query's first complete `S-V` tag as the new result, even after the new reply arrives.
Associate firmware reply frames with their query, or prevent a new query until the previous reply is fully received.

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.A saturated buffer can drop the tag tail.
The check
firmware_data_.size() < kMaxFirmwareBytesis made per frame. The limit is therefore soft, and the buffer can exceed 256 bytes by up to one frame. This is harmless for the current 8-byte frame size.A more important case: if the arm sends unrelated firmware frames before the tag, the buffer can fill with noise. Later frames, including the tag, are then dropped. The buffer is cleared on each query, so recovery needs a new query. This limit is acceptable as a guard against unbounded growth. Document that behavior, or truncate the insert to the remaining space.
piper_cpp/test/piper_interface_v2_test.cpp: 1
257-280: 🎯 Functional CorrectnessThe concern is refuted.
getFirmwareData()is a public method.sendFirmwareQuery()clears the firmware buffer before sending the new query, so the immediate empty-version assertion matches the implementation.

Choose a free temporary interface name before the first rename.
The generated prefix + "tmp" + index name is not checked for collisions. A failed temporary rename leaves the original name in current, and the second pass can then find its target still occupied. The code only logs both failures and starts the interfaces under the wrong names.

Define M_PI or use the class constant for portable builds.
M_PI is a non-standard extension. On MSVC without _USE_MATH_DEFINES, this line fails to compile. PiperForwardKinematics::PI already exists and is a static constexpr public member. Use it instead.
