fix: respect retained block history with engine 0.22.0 - #1893
Rewire Engine dependencies and runtime patches to 0.22.0 and use its retained slot bounds for block history RPCs. The boundary RPCs now report available history, block listings omit pruned slots, and block/time lookups below the available boundary return -32001. Older legacy history is included where available.

Walkthrough
The RPC block-history path now reports retained history boundaries, lists slots from retained ledger and Engine history, and returns a cleanup error for pruned block reads. Ledger adds inclusive slot discovery, and workspace Engine dependencies and patches move to tag 0.22.0.

Summary
Slot discovery and dependency updates Cargo.toml, ledger/src/store/api.rs
Workspace Engine dependencies and patches now use tag 0.22.0. Ledger adds inclusive slot discovery with a limit, and tests cover ranges, limits, and records with block times.
History boundaries and cleanup errors aperture/src/error.rs, aperture/src/history.rs
History combines legacy slots with slots in Engine’s retained range and reports the first available slot. Missing block and block-time lookups check whether the requested slot was cleaned up.
HTTP RPC integration and coverage aperture/src/requests/http/*, aperture/tests/blocks.rs, aperture/tests/mocked.rs
Block-list handlers use asynchronous history lookups. getFirstAvailableBlock and minimumLedgerSlot return the history boundary. Tests cover listings and cleanup errors for pruned slots; the mocked zero-boundary test is removed.
Block-history listings can omit legacy blocks or briefly advertise unreadable tip blocks. These bounded consistency risks warrant owner awareness and follow-up; stronger legacy-history and retained-boundary tests are also recommended.

Explanation
Issue #1888 requires retained-history boundaries, filtered block listings, and -32001 errors below the first available slot. History::first_available_block supplies both boundary RPCs. History::slots reads retained Engine slots and applicable legacy slots. getBlock and getBlockTime call check_cleaned_block. The added pruning test verifies the boundary, listings, error code, and first-available-block message. The Engine 0.22.0 dependency updates support the retained-range behavior.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changed files implement or test Issue #1888. The Engine dependency updates provide the retained slot bounds. The history, RPC dispatch, ledger API, error constant, and pruning tests directly support the required behavior. Removing the obsolete mock test prevents an assertion of the previous incorrect boundary. No unrelated change is identified.

block_rpc_methods checks boundaries and listings only against an empty legacy ledger. The legacy branch in History::slots contributes no slots in that state. These assertions still pass if the branch is removed.
Add a test that seeds a legacy block with a slot below the Engine's retained start. Assert that getBlocks, getBlocksWithLimit, getFirstAvailableBlock, and minimumLedgerSlot include that slot.
Seed the block in a dedicated ledger for this test. shared_ledger() in aperture/tests/setup/mod.rs is shared with pruned_block_history. A seeded slot in that ledger breaks the getBlocks(0, first) expectation there.
The fixture needs a legacy write path. The blockhash_cf and blocktime_cf fields in ledger/src/store/api.rs are private. Add a public or test-only helper in the ledger crate that writes a legacy block. Add a with_engine variant that accepts a ledger, because with_engine currently passes shared_ledger() unconditionally.

Read the first available block in pruned_block_history.
The test checks getFirstAvailableBlock, minimumLedgerSlot, and both listings at first. It does not call getBlock or getBlockTime at that slot. A regression that makes the advertised first block unreadable would still pass. No other test reads the retained start. Add reads that must succeed:

- Line 108: Ensure the range end used by History::slots is published only after
Engine commits the corresponding block index, so getBlocks cannot expose a slot
before getBlock can retrieve it. Update Engine’s ledger publication ordering
around the block-index commit; inspect the publication and index-read paths to
preserve their existing synchronization and safeguards.
- Around line 101-108: Update History::slots to include legacy-only slots
between retained.end() and the requested end when the published Engine range
lags live production. Fetch only the uncovered range from the ledger, append
results in slot order, and respect the remaining limit without duplicating slots
already collected.
Review comments at @aperture/src/requests/http/get_blocks.rs:
- Around line 46-49: Legacy block listings are capped at Engine’s latest slot,
causing them to disagree with getFirstAvailableBlock when retained legacy slots
extend higher. Update the range selection used by getBlocks and
getBlocksWithLimit to avoid using latest as the legacy upper bound; preserve the
existing legacy-slot and limit semantics.
