Adds an ISPDB entry for mailbox.org (mailbox.org), a German privacy-oriented mail provider that is not in the database yet (autoconfig.thunderbird.net/v1.1/mailbox.org returns 404).

What mailbox.org already publishes

mailbox.org serves its own config-v1.1.xml at https://autoconfig.mailbox.org/mail/config-v1.1.xml, so Thunderbird's ISP lookup already works for mailbox.org itself. This entry mirrors those servers and adds the <enable> note about two-factor authentication, which the provider's file does not carry.

Contents

All values are taken from mailbox.org's own material, nothing is guessed:

Verification

Hostnames and ports match the provider's knowledge base and its own autoconfig file (checked 2026-09-21). I do not have a mailbox.org account, so this has not been verified with an actual login.

IMAP imap.mailbox.org:993 (SSL), SMTP smtp.mailbox.org 465 (SSL) / 587
(STARTTLS), username is the primary address, as published by mailbox.org:
https://kb.mailbox.org/de/privat/e-mail/e-mail-konfiguration/

With two-factor authentication enabled, e-mail programs need an
application password (<enable>):

Hi @Tozle, thanks for your PR and apologies for the delay. The ISPDB exists as a fallback for providers that cannot host an autoconfig file itself. In addition to this, implementations like Thunderbird consider ISPDB configs less trustworthy than configs coming straight from the provider, and since mailbox.org already hosts such a config then the one in ISPDB will never be taken into consideration by clients. So unfortunately, adding this file to ISPDB makes little sense.

Regarding the missing enable section, I would recommend reaching out to mailbox.org's customer service to ask if they'd be willing to add it to their config.
