Add per-agent sharing switches to desktop channel settings. Owners can let current channel members invoke their remote agents without using the CLI.

This is layer 2 of 2 and depends on #115. Both belong to stack #117.

Related: #101 introduced the server grant contract. The prerequisite desktop transport is #115.

Open a channel's actions menu, select View channel details, then find Your Remote agents. Each switch publishes the existing owner-signed channel permission. Refresh reads changes made from another client.

The panel shows confirmed permissions, delivery errors, and saved changes that need retry. A pending enable has an explicit Revoke sharing action. Failed reads hide unverified controls until Refresh succeeds. Disabled channels or missing membership prevent enabling; existing permissions remain revocable. Direct messages have no sharing section.

This PR changes only the native desktop UI under apps/buzz-gpui. It makes no mobile changes.

Validation:

  • Native desktop build with voltage-sandbox.
  • Native Clippy across affected crates and test targets, with warnings denied.
  • Linux native app against a local instance of the deployed relay image, using an isolated synthetic account.
  • Mouse enable, Space revoke, Enter enable, and close/reopen confirmation. Relay storage confirmed the switch's signed permission changes.
  • Native focus indication and per-agent accessibility labels use the standard switch and button controls.

Root just ci stopped in unchanged Tauri checks because glib-2.0.pc is unavailable. Native GPUI checks passed separately.

Human acceptance remains pending. With an updated desktop build, test:

  1. Add your remote agent to a channel you belong to.
  2. Open View channel details → Your Remote agents.
  3. Enable sharing for that agent.
  4. Have another channel member mention it. Expect a reply in that channel.
  5. Disable sharing. A new invocation from that member must no longer be admitted.

Changing settings does not cancel a task already running. macOS smoke testing remains pending.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added a channel settings panel for viewing and managing whether members can use Remote agents in Stream and Forum channels.
    • Added status and error messages, refresh and retry actions, and options to discard failed changes or revoke pending enables.

Explain Change →

No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.

Walkthrough

The change adds a channel agent-sharing panel. It loads agent-sharing state and provides controls for sharing changes, retries, discards, and refreshes. Stream and Forum channel settings create and render the panel.

Changes: Channel Agent Sharing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Load and update sharing state
apps/buzz-gpui/crates/app/src/ui/channel_agent_sharing.rs
The panel loads sharing state, handles toggle, retry, and discard operations, and refreshes state after operations. It ignores stale asynchronous results.
Render agent controls and panel states
apps/buzz-gpui/crates/app/src/ui/channel_agent_sharing.rs
The panel displays agent status, enable reasons, pending errors and actions, loading and empty states, and errors. It disables toggles while loading, busy, or pending, and when enabling is unavailable.
Embed the panel in channel settings
apps/buzz-gpui/crates/app/src/ui/channel_settings.rs, apps/buzz-gpui/crates/app/src/ui/mod.rs
Channel settings lazily create and render the panel for Stream and Forum channels. The UI module declares the panel module.

Reviewed the change against its stated goal, VISION.md, VISION_AGENT.md, VISION_REMOTE_AGENTS.md, and the repository's review-proven rules.

Minimalism: 9/10. The implementation extends the existing signer, session reader, and durable outbox. It introduces no endpoint or independent permission store.

Elegance: 9/10. The permission transport and its consuming settings UI are separate layers. Exact-event retry and verified readback use existing infrastructure.

Correctness: 9/10. Current-owner checks, signed scope validation, monotone replacement, uncertain-delivery recovery, archive revocation, stale-result fencing, and keyboard controls were exercised. No remaining correctness, security, or product-contract blockers were found in this review.

Native validation: 641 unit tests, strict Clippy, desktop build, a local instance of the deployed relay image, and actual native pointer/keyboard/reopen flows. Root just ci stopped at the unchanged Tauri dependency on unavailable glib-2.0.pc.

Human acceptance is pending. No buzz-review-completed attestation has been added. Scope is native desktop only; mobile files are unchanged.

Shared with channel members

The owner enabled sharing and reopened channel settings. The switch shows the permission confirmed by the relay.

01-shared-with-channel

Keyboard revocation

Space disables sharing while the switch retains its visible keyboard focus. Relay storage confirms enabled: false.

02-keyboard-revocation

Read failure after a successful enable

The relay accepted the enable, then the test proxy refused reads. The panel hides stale controls and shows an error with Refresh.

03-failed-read-clears-controls

Cancel an uncertain enable after archive

The test proxy prevented enable delivery. After archive, the explicit Revoke sharing action remains available.

04-pending-enable-recovery

Revocation confirmed

Revoke sharing clears the pending enable after a newer disabled grant is confirmed. The channel remains archived.

Both current revisions include the review fixes. All changes remain under apps/buzz-gpui; no mobile or infrastructure files changed.

  • An explicit revoke can supersede an uncertain enable after archive, member removal, or a runtime change. The old journal remains until the newer signed revoke is observed.
  • Pending revokes are retried byte-for-byte, and a superseded enable cannot be replayed.
  • Failed refreshes clear unverified sharing controls. The owner can Refresh to recover.
  • The desktop exposes Revoke sharing for a pending enable.

Validation: 15 identity tests and 627 relay tests pass with the normal parallel runner. Strict native Clippy, the native desktop build, and the live session integration pass.

Actual native UI fault tests passed: failed reads after successful enable, failed manual refresh, recovery through Refresh, and explicit revocation of an undelivered enable after archive. Relay storage confirms the final disabled permission. Screenshots are attached to #116.

The existing reader deadline test now uses a paused clock after its real-time version failed under local load. Its queue-expiry assertion remains intact.

Human review is requested for the updated heads. Human acceptance is still pending; no buzz-review-completed attestation is claimed.
