MBC speaks the Minecraft protocol directly. Before logging in it pings the server, reads the real protocol version and adapts — so an exact version is not required.
| Version range | Examples | Protocol ID |
|---|---|---|
| 1.8 | 1.8, 1.8.9 | 47 |
| 1.9 – 1.12 | 1.9, 1.10.2, 1.11, 1.12.2 | 47 – 340 |
| 1.13 – 1.16 | 1.13.2, 1.14.4, 1.15.2, 1.16.5 | 340 – 754 |
| 1.17 – 1.18 | 1.17, 1.18.2 | 755 – 758 |
| 1.19 | 1.19, 1.19.2, 1.19.4 | 759 – 760 |
| 1.20 | 1.20 – 1.20.6 | 763 – 766 |
| 1.21 | 1.21 – 1.21.8 | 767 – 773 |
| 25.x – 26.x | 25.1 – 26.2 | 774 – 777 |
Any version inside a range that is not listed explicitly is mapped to the nearest known protocol ID; the actual server protocol is probed before login.
-
SRV records — resolves
_minecraft._tcp.<domain>automatically, so a bare domain works without a port -
Offline mode — designed for
online-mode=falseservers; premium (online-mode) login is still in development - Compression — handles the Set Compression packet when the server enables it
- Chat — legacy and modern chat packets, section codes and JSON chat components are rendered with colours in the console
- Keepalive — answered automatically for every connection, including in multi-bot mode
MBC uses these endpoints for the startup check, both skipped with fast_start:
