feat(agents): verify shared task provenance and channel access - #110
A shared agent needs the same authorization when starting and receiving a new task. This layer verifies the stored signed mention, current owner grant, live agent ownership, trusted relay metadata, and current requester/owner/agent channel membership. It requires the human budget origin to appear in the relay-signed NIP-43 workspace roster. DMs, removed members, revoked grants, ambiguous scope, and lookup failures cannot broaden access.
Handoffs retain the actual signer, original human, initial agent, and parent task. A bounded walk verifies that each signed parent addresses the handing-off agent in the same thread, agrees with the reply tag, and leads to the original human request. The separate manager journal in #112 also requires the parent's durable admission and enforces execution limits.
Depends on #101, above #108. The consumers are implemented in #112, #113, and #114; this layer alone does not enable sharing.
Validation: SDK and session-control suites and all-target Clippy passed. Tests exercise cross-owner tasks, return handoffs, unrelated parents, mismatched replies, fresh revocation, removed members, wrong relay identity, unavailable authorization, private agents, malformed scope, and bot identity spoofing. The complete real-relay workflow in #114 caught and verified the correction from p to the actual NIP-43 member roster tags. That workflow uses actual harness and CLI processes with a deterministic model adapter and simulated Kubernetes API.
Human acceptance and staging rollout remain pending. The feature remains disabled until matching components and explicit owner grants are deployed.

Walkthrough
The SDK now exposes utilities for validating shared-task events, constructing handoffs, and authorizing tasks against relay data and channel policy. Session control adds the Admit operation and its admit wire spelling.

Summary
Task scope and handoff events crates/buzz-sdk/src/sharing.rs, crates/buzz-sdk/src/sharing/task.rs
The SDK exposes task utilities that validate signed event scope, decode task provenance, and build handoff events with channel, recipient, thread, and provenance tags.
voltagecloud/buzz#55: Starts remote workspace sessions from owner-authenticated channel mentions, related to authorization of mention-triggered agent startup.
voltagecloud/buzz#108: Starts or reuses remote sessions from signed mentions, related to authorization of shared-task events.
voltagecloud/buzz#48: Implements manager-side admission for session-control requests, related to the new Admit operation.

- Around line 113-125: Update the automated-event validation in authorize so it
loads origin.parent and verifies that the parent matches the event’s reply tag,
has the same scope, addresses event.pubkey, and is either origin.request or a
handoff whose ancestry resolves to origin.request. Add a negative authorize test
for a forged buzz-task with an unrelated buzz-parent. Keep durable-admission
validation in the later manager consumer; do not add manager-journal input to
authorize.

CI triage: the earlier downstream failures came from the PostgreSQL discovery guard in parent PR #101, before those jobs ran. That parent now puts the ignored database test in the discoverable postgres_tests module; the local discovery guard passes. This branch also inherits dependency-security fix #105 through #108 and #101.
The underlying failures have been repaired rather than waived as flaky. Hosted CI is rerunning on the current stack. Brandon is requested for review. Merge order: #105 → #108 → #101 → #110.
Agent review of current policy: every admission reads the current signed relay state, verifies ownership and explicit channel membership, excludes private conversations, preserves the actual signer, and requires a direct workspace member for the human budget origin. An agent cannot reset its budget by removing its profile credential or changing its channel role.
The policy now also walks the signed parent relationship with a four-link limit: the reply and parent IDs must agree, each parent must address the handing-off agent in the same thread, and the chain must terminate at the original human request. Unrelated parents and mismatched replies are rejected; a valid return handoff passes. The separate manager journal still verifies durable parent admission and limits execution.
SDK: 323 passed; session-control: 15 passed. The sharing regression subset passed again after adding the return-handoff case. Clippy passed across all targets. No remaining concrete blocker found in this layer. Minimalism, elegance, and correctness: 9/10 each. Runtime consumers and human acceptance remain separately pending.
Sharing a measurement from our upstream PRs that lands directly on this (and #112/#113/#114): your #104 (71b6e5f, wake remote workspaces from owner DMs) and #102 (8e92dc7, recovery replay) make provenance keying here load-bearing.
Measurement (open upstream PR block#6578 — mobile: consume agent mention acks, kind 44102). Attribution binds to the event SIGNER, not to forgeable fields: p tags / author fields are forgeable; the signer pubkey on a kind:44102 ack is not. Store idempotency is keyed on (mention id, signer) — the 19-case store-test matrix pins: (a) the same mention acked by a different signer is a DISTINCT record (an impersonating re-post cannot consume someone else's ack); (b) replay of the same (mention id, signer) pair is a no-op (relayed/retried copies cannot double-count).
Independent fork-side confirmations we verified elsewhere: Kiingo 8f4467e (per-event dedupe under relayed copies) and d8cc799 (relayed posts get a distinct trust tier — a person's post re-signed by a poster's agent consults who-may-relay before counting as that person's voice); Kiingo 061f5cd (authority is a property of the session lane — guest sessions refuse operator bypass), which sits upstream of any admission record.
Question: when an admission (#112) is admitted through the running harness (#113), carried by an owner-DM wake (#104) or channel-scoped mention (#114), is the admission record keyed on (event id, signer) rather than event id alone? With #102's recovery replay in the path, event-id-only keying can count a recovered replay as a second admission, and a relayed copy re-signed by a bridge key can borrow the origin's voice; (event id, signer) collapses both.
Happy to share the 19-case matrix shape if useful. Posted from our fork-ecosystem evidence watch; no ask beyond the question.
